There's no way Crabtree is a better run blocker then Morgan, and Bruce is pretty bad himself.
Morgans run blocking has helped our RB's average over 2.2 yards per carry over the last couple weeks.

that will eventually happen
Morgan and Crabtree starting
Eventually, but Bruce has not looked good so far.
Bruce should be cut he is just taking up space.
Bruce's Production is on par with Morgan's...lets cut both...

we paid him decent money to have a role in the offense right?
The QB we currently are using isn't able to use B.Jones to his strengths, so we aren't going to be using dude.

I am starting to wonder this my self. Everything says that Crab is practicing well, but what cornerback and saftey has he been able to go against during the bye week? So every reciever looks really good when not being covered.
Hopefully He is ready, but Jimmy Rayes weak passing scheme has me concerned

I think we just want the best talent on the field and if Crabby has looked as good in practice as they are saying then they want him on the field. Morgans position was just temporary anyhow till Crabby was signed and I think they have bigger plans for Morgan over on Bruces spot. Rather than tell Bruce BYE why not do the right thing and work Morgan in over on that side. I don't think it would go over well if they take a vet like Bruce and just say your on the bench! Wrong message if you ask me. They were obviously impressed with Crabs and you can't deny the talent.

I guess we'll find out Sunday whether or not this is a desperation move. When Sing/Raye said they were going to bring Crabs in slowly and start in 3 WR sets (10 play package) that was when he was just being signed. Since then he must have impressed the hell out of everyone to be given this oppertunity.
It's hard to believe Singletary would start someone who he doesn't believe is ready or won't give us the best chance at winning. I'm taking a leap of faith and believing that this is a positive sign our 10th overall draft pick was worth the trouble.
I hope after this Sunday I don't look stupid for posting this. . . . .

I agree, but Bruce is simply being taken out of our games. He had that great reception for a huge gain in the Arizona game. Since then, nearly every defense has smothered him. Hence Davis racking it up.

THEY ARE DESPERATE
For the money they are paying him, why not? Time to prove his worth here.

The biggest reason Nolan was such a crappy coach was because he played favoritism, and lacked the balls to pull back a crappy player/throw in a young gun when things weren't working. This is why I love Singletary.
Singletary HAS BALLS, he commended Rachel and Snyder, but when they started to suck he replaced/shifted them, just as he did with the players previous to their commendations.
Whether or not Crabs produces much Sunday it won't really make a difference, cause Morgan probably can't do much better right now (either), but at least we're putting our money to good use.
I think it's because Bruce is showing signs that he isn't an every-down player anymore. By making Morgan the #3 WR, you're hindering his development, and that isn't necessary because Morgan is 10 years younger than Bruce, yet has similar numbers. Plus, the #3 WR in this offense doesn't get to play much.
Either way, our offense is better today than it was yesterday, because Crabtree is an improvement over Morgan, so we can't be too disappointed.
I fail to see how being the 3rd wr will hinder his development. If anything it will help to learn from the sidelines since obviously he didn't pick up things as fast as crabtree and being in the slot gives morgan a favorable matchup almost everytime.

"I'm helping him learn my position and take my position," said Morgan, who ranks second on the 49ers behind Vernon Davis in receiving. Morgan has 13 catches for 202 yards and one touchdown. "It is what it is. If he can help us win, I'm all right with that.
"They gave him my spot. So if he's going to be in there, I might as well help him out so I can make sure he gets it right."
I still think Morgan is an explosive player. He is still young and I do not think Crabtree has earned the right to take his spot no matter how good he did in practice.
You're right. He hasn't earned the spot yet, but read the quote by Morgan again. "They GAVE him my spot". This is a bad move and just going to make his prima donna ego swell even more.
Coach does realize when he was catching all those passes from Alex...that nobody was covering him? Right?

The thing is, in this offense, the 3rd WR barely sees the field. He's going to be forgotten just like Jason Hill.

You know what Morgan can do if he doesn't like it? Take it back. Or take Bruce's.

Where the hell is Brandon Jones in all this? It's painfully apparent we need more speed on the field, yet our fastest receivers are not playing and Sing chooses to go with perhaps our slowest, who also has not been having a good year, Bruce! NFL history is replete with examples of once good players who decline markedly from one year to the next, especially in the latter part of their careers. That appears to be the case with Bruce. We have good young receivers in need of valuable game experience and who at least have very good speed. Jones was a bright spot earlier this year, and unless he's not recovered fully from his injury, something i doubt after this amount of time, what gives?
Also, like many of you, I hope starting Crabtree is a sign of how he has impressed and not one of desperation.
