They have the ability to up the offer....at least be able to meet in the middle....and to go weeks...damn near a month without any contact is idiotic............OH FOOLISH PRIDE!

Oh well.

"Overpaying" for players with a proven NFL track record is one thing. Overpaying for a 22 year old sophomore is entirely different.

Truthfully I don't even understand why fans care about that(It's NOT YOUR MONEY).....I do believe our track record for first round picks haven't been that great....with the exception of Willis and Peterson. We drafted VD #6 overall....was he worth that?? IMO No.

Regardless of what people say....this kid is talented and will be a #1 WR in this leauge. I understand people are upset but if you take the emotion away you will see this is a no win situation for either party. THE TEAM has spoken out and said Crabtree will sign so I would think there doing everything in there power to make it so.......just my thoughts.

Actually it is our money. We support these players one way or another.
The Crabtree holdout is giving 49er fans Blue Balls...as soon as he signs, a bunch of the nay-sayers will shoot a glorious man-spray all over their monitors.

I hate Niner talk, but I had to touch this EPIC thread just once!

Niner added Final Practice squad player Guard Drew Radovich. So much for cutting a person for Crabtress spot.

He was really dissapointed about the offer. He thinks he's worth more. He said screw it, I'll just wait until the last day. He's still going to get guaranteed money. He'll get the same amount of money if he signed weeks ago or if he signs Saturday. This way it will keep people guessing for a long time, and he thought there was a slim chance they'd up the offer if he waited it out. And since he thinks he's going to be underpaid, he doesn't care that he's missing practice and he won't be a factor for a couple of games. Hell, he'll get his money. He thinks he's "punishing" the 49ers by sitting out now, because he thinks he is getting low-balled.

This all of course is my own personal opinion.

Although I don't know you, I'll randomly believe that you're a seer/prophet and can foretell the future. So, it WILL happen!

Crabtree Considering Changing Agents?
September 9th, 2009 · No Comments

There are several people in Michael Crabtree’s life advising him to change agents to get a deal done with the San Francisco 49ers, according to several sources. It is unknown whether Crabtree is 100% loyal to his current agent Eugene Parker and his stance that he is taking against the organization to get a huge deal.

The only reason for him to change agents is to save face, because he isn't going to get a better deal.

yes it’s not our money but do you remember how life was in salary cap hell.. it took this franchise like 3 years (and getting reed of very good players Jeff, Deese, Hearst, Newberry, amongst others) to get a well balance cap and we fans don’t want to go back to the days were one player thinks he need 10 more millions of what everybody knows he should earn and just pay him because he think he is a star... then every time the team negotiate a contract every agent will want millions more of what they actually are worth...

no way pay him what the slot said and then in a few years if he is all he said he is pay him like a star….

so does that mean crabtree is tired of holding out? or he's doubting that parker could get him the money and wants someone that will get him that contract? if he wants to sign why doesn't he just sign? i don't know

i'm going on a hunger strike until crabtree signs, he has until 6pm then my strike is over

[WishfulThinking] Myae you're right. He wants to sign but doesn't want to come out as a loser. So what better way to do it than change agents, accept the 49ers proposal and blame everything on your FORMER agent?? [/WishfulThinking]
