MattMaioccoFor the first time ever this season, the 49ers are closing Wednesday practices to the local media. Thankfully, I have a mole . .

Why would he give out that info?

I honestly could give a fukk less about the money. I'm not paying a cent and neither are any of you. Jersey sales and ticket prices are going to rise anyway so that argument holds no water.

Lets just pay him A LITTLE bit more (front end, back end, whatever) and get this guy in camp because he seems like he's ready to hit the ground running like MB said. Who knows, he could be on the field in a few weeks.

what are you smoking? the 49ers need to stand put. put their foot down, and this kid needs to smarten up. seriously who the hell does he think he is? i hope we don't sign him.

Yea that's right...because Crabtree not signing is great for our franchise.
I've been hard on Crabs....but the 49ers bear a part of the blame. I mean we have over paid for players in the past that hasn't done squat to help this team. They have the ability to up the offer....at least be able to meet in the middle....and to go weeks...damn near a month without any contact is idiotic............OH FOOLISH PRIDE!

Oh well.

"Dont cut off your nose to spite your face" my mom would always say. Well she obviously never met Crashgreed.

I dont want him here. I have finally gotten over the damage TO had done here and I am not ready to relive that s**t.

f**k him and his ghetto family, f**k Deon, and f**k Parker.

moving on

Sounds a little similar to what I was saying a few pages back to a rant from this same poster.

It's obvious that we never brought him in for an interview, it's obvious we didn't do our homework. Scotty blew his wad when he saw him drop and drafted him.

Ummm I believe most 49er fans wanted him when he dropped not just the Scotty. How is it obvious we never scouted him and can you provide factual evidence of that that we never did ?

Go back and look and the Brady Quinn situation when he dropped in the draft, he got more money than his slotted position as has been previously pointed out. He held out 10 days and the team coughed up the money. It has never had a negative effect on their last 2 drafts when it came time to signing their picks.

We didn't draft for need. WE DID NOT DRAFT FOR NEEDS!!!! that is why we are in this position. M. Oher should've been the pick. Logical. Man we are starting to look & sound like the raiders. pathetic. all of you on here that love this kid go to hell! he will suck. he was a system wr and will not be a good wr in the nfl. stop tjhe madness.

There are 2 theory's in the NFL draft for need or draft BPA regardless of position. We drafted the BPA far and away. If we wanted Oher then we should have traded back into the first to get him. He dropped quite far for a guy who was supposedly going to go in the top 10, you know why ? Because he showed a lot of inconsistencies. The 49ers picked the right player when they were on the clock.

There are a TON of system players who get drafted and turn into studs once they reach the pro's. Can you explain why he will suck, because you have failed to post anything insightful yet.

allot of you have drank the cool aid. crap man this makes me sick. if my boys & me see you with a crabtree jersey in the parking lot prepare for hell man. there will be a t least 12 angry guys reaming your ass! this is stupid.

Wow you and your boys are some real tough guys hunh ? Nothing like making fun of another 49ers fan because of the 49ers jersey he so chooses to wear, that'll show that fan. Way to make us look like Raider fans!

what will be even more stupid is if we sign him. what a waste of a pick. another waste of a first round pick. pathetic! it's the curse of the mooch! f**k the yorks!!! & scotty! horrid management.

How would that be stupid ? To sign a player with his potential is a GREAT thing and not at all a bad thing. He can hopefully eventually help improve a far from great WR core. We have some potential at WR but none have a ceiling anywhere near as high as MC's.

You are right, it will be a waste of a pick if at some time something doesn't get done. However with so few details available to us about this whole ordeal it is not fair to really truly blame one side or the other.

All we have learned is he was offered 16 mill guaranteed and the there have not been many talks between the 2 sides since then. Maybe the 49ers should up the offer, maybe they should be pushing a little harder to show him how much they want him to be a player on this team. Maybe Crabtree & co. should submit a counter offer (if they already haven't) and maybe Crabtree needs to make a statement to the media.

However one thing is clear, 49er fans are clearly overreacting to all of this. At the end of the day this sport has become a business and right now it's about money. We have very few details to actually go on yet everyone wants to blame Crabtree for the holdout. How many times have fans claimed the York's are cheap over the last few years....maybe it's time for the FO to put more money on the table or release more details to show us that they are doing all they can to get MC signed which would put more pressure ont he Crabtree camp to get something done.

People are just angry right now. After he signs his contract, most will forgive. But can you imagine if he drops his first pass. The boo's would be the loudest it has been at candlestick in years

"Overpaying" for players with a proven NFL track record is one thing. Overpaying for a 22 year old sophomore is entirely different.

I hope the thinking isn't that just because we overpaid unproductive players in the past, we should continue with that tradition.

Overpaid for draft picks? Who? A lot of money is not an example of over paying if you are refering to Smith's rookie contract, over paying for a highly sought after FA that has proven himself on the field is something totally different like Clements.

If and when Cashgreed makes a name for himself PLAYING in the NFL, then he can try to get over paid too. Until then, he is just an unproven #10 slotted rookie
All you people saying "f*ck Crabtree" and "we don't need him" are going to be begging for him to come after watching our horrible passing offense.

I could care less if we have to overpay to get hm....Crabtree is one of the best players in the draft and we need to take advantage of it.
If you're craving great roasted crab, head over to PPQ Dungeness Island on Clement St. in San Francisco. Great price for whole roasted crab compared to Crustacean and Thanh Long, both of which do have awesome roasted crab also but are on the pricier side.

If the 49ers are sitting at 0-3/1-4 and Crabtree still hasn't signed, it's going to be UGLY.

Not sure why it would be ugly. Crabs hasn't produced a f**king thing in this big boy league, therefore, he has no real bargaining power, even if the team goes 0-16. That's the truth, and the front office knows it. He is still unproven, they have a fair offer on the table for an unproven rookie, Crapstree has nothing to counter that he is unproven.
