The 9ers organization of all people should recognize that... uh hum >Alex
uh hum.... might be better than smith. but hill i still think not. i think alex was more accurate over preseason. dropped balls whatever. he threw better, looked better in the pocket to me than hill, and i know he can block better after the raider game. but i easily think davis could handle first string right now, with better results. hes a real gamer, thats calm under all circumstances. i think he would be fine if we threw him in there. alex who is my pick had a different mentality he wasnt ready to be thrown in as a rookie. 2 different results imo.
I THINK DAVIS WOULD THRIVE OFF BEING A STARTING ROOKIE QB!!! If sanchez can i know he can.

Maybe.... but Davis did not get the needed reps during training camp that Sanchez did. Hill and Alex got great majority of those.

just watched chronicle live, crabtrees old coach said its not the speed, size, etc. about making the transition, its the not thinking to much basically just doing. I dont know guess who i see the non thinking just performing part.... Davis, no one can say he just doesn't look like pure serenity out there. he justs adjusts and throws. imo hes the only one playing off instinctions not a thought process. hope that makes sense

So did Cody Pickett and Ken Dorsey.
This happens every year. A third string hero does well in a couple meaningless quarters and all the fans annoint him.
Not everyone is Shaun Hill. And even with a "7-3" record he is still unproven.
Let's see what Hill can do first. Then worry about Nate, Alex, etc etc.

You are correct IMO. I remember when Hill was the third stringer a couple years ago, same thing.

Last year he did go 7-3. I almost promise none of those teams were in the top 15 d. So share opinion if you like, but should shaun hill be our starter or are you nervous?
This so easy even a caveman could figure this out. Shaun Hill is 9-3 as a starter...
everyone else is
0-FOREVER!!!
Nuff said!

To be fair, because of this dumb QB competition, Hill hasn't really practiced full reps for a full week prior to a game yet. Neither had Alex Smith.
This is why Hill not practicing due to his back was critical. This team has yet to have a chance to get into a rythm with the QB they will be going into gameday with.
What happen to the carry over rythm from the last 8 games of 2008 season?
Did it just disappear?
Hill worked with all these WR's since 2008 season...except "Mr.Cashtree"
To be fair, Alex did not.... im just saying.
Don't worry, once he gets some good pratices in as the only starter, his last 8 game play will come out again.
Hey, he may not be a world beater but it sure beats having a bunch of 3 and outs.
im seeing a bunch so far. and preseason smeseason. if he cant do it when its easier tell me please why on "real" games
A BUNCH SO FAR?....PROVE IT..... or else STFU and stop talking out of your arse!
some of you Hill "haters" don't even know what your hating for, yall just don't know WHAT THE HELL YALL TALKING ABOUT..... just reply, reply reply without even thinking.

Lot of Alex haters do the same thing.
Look bottom line is everyone needs to calm the fk down and see what happens. Hills allowed to have an off game or two. Alex had some, Hill will have some, and Nate Davis will too. Big deal. It's too early.

Do all of you remember that before the 2005 draft, the 9ers gave both Rogers and Smith a workout? The story, as I recall it, was that Nolan handed Smith the ball and asked him to move the ball around and between his ankles. The reason, Nolan explained, was that he wanted a QB who did what he was told and would not question why. I guess Smith passed the test - perhaps Rogers did not.
Nolan got a QB who passed the submissiveness test, and he probably drummed into his ears before each game, "DON"T MAKE ANY MISTAKES!" It is not surprising that we saw a QB who was careful, cautious, and had little confidence or swagger.
For Smith to be successful, somehow his personality has to be rebuilt, and it will never happen unless he has some success first.
As for Hill, I would have loved to see how he would have reacted if Nolan had asked him to do the ball between the legs thing. I like Hill, and think he may answer the bell when the season starts, but I remain worried because I have seen too many shaky periods - the last two games of last year and his preseason so far.

when any qb looks like ours has in preseason ...that.is a major concern...

And Hill would be outplaying everyone too if he was playing in garbage time against 3rd stringers.
Get some perspective.

Hill might not be the second coming of Joe Montana, but he sure gives us a better chance to win...so what Alex can throw a 1 deep bomb a game? Few games are won with 1 play.
I wouldn't term Hill's play as "beating out" Smith. They both played horribly, and this team missed an opportunity when Farve and Vick were available. The QB play or lack of it will cost this team at least 3 games this year.
Oh come now, Favre was NEVER going to come to us. Vick maybe but highly doubtful. We already HAD 4 QBs' on the roster by time Goodell allowed him to reeneter the NFL. And can you just IMAGINE how pet loving fans in the Bay Area would have reacted at signing him? Hows that saying go again??? Oh that's right, Ni@@a please.

This has to be the post of the year. It is the funniest to date so far. Hill didn't move the team ANYWHERE.
