Not really. I don't even worry if Hill doesn't start. One thing I do know is that you will see a difference in the OTHER players on offense when Hill does come in.

I don't really care what you haters think, you have to admit, we have heard more good things about Alex this off-season than probably in his previous 4 years combined! (And I'm not just talking about one reporter's opinion.) Alex's shoulder appears to be healthy for the first time in nearly 2 years, add to that his his renewed motivation (ESPN article) and the recent "Quarterbacking 101" article referring to QB Coach Mike Johnson, which I recommend all of you read. I really think Alex Smith is a man on a mission. WOULD NOT bet against him! This appears to be the Alex Smith we've all been looking for since he was drafted in 2005! I wish him well. I'm excited for Friday.

110 pages on this topic, hashing and rehashing the same arguments, yet I get locked for bringing up Crabtree's disturbing silence and the potential damage it's doing to his image? And my post was based on an article in today's paper! Where are all the calls for a lock here? Don't get me wrong, if there were consistency in locks and merges, I wouldn't have a problem. And I'm seeing some of the very guys that call for locks on other posts continue to drive theirs and their cronies debates into the ground, and then some.
The cliquish nature of this site is unfortunate. We're all supposed to be 9'er fans here and should be treated equally. And I'm sure there will be the old, love it or leave it comments, but seriously, check it out and see if I'm not right. Some newer guys will post and get virtually ignored by the majority, while this thread stretches to infinity.
There's really nothing new to add until they name a starter, then the debate can resume with a vengeance.
Sorry, but it frustrates the crap outa me and I needed to get it off my chest. I also know I'll be ripped for it.

see you say things like how youll give smith a chance when he shows hes improved, but then you make a statement like this where you guarentee hell fail. what gives man? if you wont give him a chance no matter what he does than just tell the truth man.

I get a good laugh when I come in here to view this thread because considering how close the QB competition appears to the beat writer's ------ there sure is an awful lot of ego's puffing out their chests over their personal choice.

You all have some good points but those are all in the past at this point and time because both of the players have improved ------ so it's all about how they play at game time now. Unfortunately if different OL players are used with each of the QB's the less productive QB's crowd will call a foul and then here we go all over again.

What are the two sides gonna do if both QB's score the same number of points but one has a few more YDS ??????

I wouldn't be surprised if MS doesn't alternate series

You simply have to be excited to read all the positive news coming out of camp about Alex, once again healthy, playing pretty dang good and showing off his Q.B. skills.

I am also happy to hear that Hill appears to be improved over last season as well.

As a 9ers fan you got to love we just may have not one, but two Q.B.'s who can lead this team to win's!

Pre-season games are going to decide our starting Q.B. and i'm loving it!!!!
