Atleast we're supporting a player whos actually played well and won games, as opposed to Smith fans who only support him based of the, " what ifs", or the "should haves", or the " he would have done this if he had...."......

Give it up kid,you are only making yourself look bad.The fact is that there is a legit QB competition going on and your Hillexcuses (see I can make up stupid words too) and conspiracy theories are weak and not very well thought out.

I do believe the correct term is Hillpologists.

Thanks for clearing that up

At this point it doesn't really matter why the organization decided to have a QB competition. Alex Smith is making the most of this opportunity and is looking extremely good in practice. Even if the Conspiracy Theorist are right about whatever reason they think the 49ers decided to have this competition; Alex Smith's recent play has turned into a legitimate competition. Now we need to see what they do in game situations.
I was sitting right there when Alex almost got lit up by Spencer today. He had no idea he was coming until Spencer yelled at him to step up

Well then he woul've gotten lit up, just like everyone in the NFL does, cuz of course its football.

Only a certain few NFL players know what if feels like to get hit by a blitzing Spencer:

I gotta say that I went to the Camp practice today and walked away thinking Damn ------ Hill and Smith look like they have both made improvements in their games. I may still slightly favor Hill because of last season but going by what I saw at practice they both looked good. It still has to come down to who looks the best in the pre-season games ------ who most consistently has the team moving the chains and ultimately scoring points. At this point I can't see any allure in arguing my guy over the other guy with any of you ------ the race looks damn close.

I know that some just like to argue so have fun ------ If the coach was to make a decision today going by practices only I would be cool with either descision.

Good post brother. What else did you notice about the QBs that the Matts haven't mentioned? Any other insight? Thanks.

no you have gotten behind a slightly above average qb because you have a vendetta against the other guy. i like both players, but to say either one of them is the amazing player their fans say they are is premature at this point, and ignorant. if hill is as good as you make him out to be, hell shut down smiths shot at the job once its game day. so dont be so threatened, chill out, let them compete, and may the best man win.

It is hard to see it all because there is so much going on at the same time. I was impressed by Both QB's , Gore out wide , Coffee , Battle , Spurlock and even Pascoe. Chilo flattened one guy and then I was really surprized by how massively huge Boone looked ------ I hope that he turns out to have some quick feet. I also hated seeing Jones in his sling cause I was hoping to see him in practice until he went down this week. And then there was the hang time on those punts by Lee. I don't usually go after autographs but I couldn't resist getting Willis to sign my 49ER cap and I got Manny to sign my ladies cap. I had a great time but regretably failed to check my camera batteries the night before ------- Damn it.

I thought that the camp was very organized and I liked the emphasis on all of the fundementals and securing the ball and trying to pop it out. I like what Singletary has done with the intensity at camp and obviously hope it carries into the games. I had a great time even though my brother didn't make it ------ we go every year.

This competition may be neck and neck right now, but we all know that once they start playing against live competition things are gonna sway in one direction. Some guys have it, and some guys don't, it's just as simple as that. It's all good though because this thread should completely die off in about 2 weeks, and hopefully everyone will shut up, and support the winning QB so we can all move on and put all this BS behind us. It's getting really old!

It won't end, unless during the season someone steps up and shows that they are definitively the best. If Smith or Hill have a bad game people will be right back here saying that the other should be the QB of choice.

no one is supposed to see a CB blitz it would be different if it was from the front 7 but thats the point of a CB blitz when it works it is a sack

Great info! Camp seems so much better this year than it was with Nolan.
