Steichen getting canned would be a raw deal. The QB injury derailed that team, not the HC.

Didn't wait for 'Black Monday', and fired him shortly after the game was over !

The #Falcons are firing GM Terry Fontenot, triggering big-time changes after a challenging season in Atlanta, per The Insiders.

First Raheem Morris, now Fontenot. pic.twitter.com/u3O9G7hqq7

They're going to enjoy the pass rush he drafted for many years.

Rookie, Second Year or struggling QBs should not be paired with DC coaches. You need a very strong OC almost like a Shanny or Ben Johnson type OC and if they are that good, they wouldnt be OCs.
Demeco got lucky with the Texans and the staff he put together, otherwise, i dont see any DCs getting HC jobs this year. All the teams needing HCs have young QBs or no QB at all.

There isn't a Ben Johnson or Shanahan level OC (or resume) available this cycle though. It's a very underwhelming class all around tbh.

Stefanski is out. Not all surprised.
He is the one of few OC minded coaches that is going to be looked at. He would be good for the titans.

That doesn't bode well for owners looking to replace fired / about to be fired coaches.
If what you stated holds true, I see two options:
• Hire a retread
• Go the route of Buster Posey (Giants), and dig into the College Ranks ...
Then of course, they could hire the defensive minded HC (a la Brian Flores), and pray they hit on the other staff hires.
