The Dolphins looked pretty flat last night. Even the MNF crew was wondering what might be wrong with them. Nobody is trading for Tua.
Dysfunctional owners/teams like the Dolphins, Browns and Cardinals are unpredictable so you never know if they will do the logical thing. Personally I would keep McDaniel's big brain but who knows what the Dolphins will do.
I think McDaniels and Carrol are safe.
Unless McDaniels lost the team, i think a front office change is the way to go. He can likely adapt to any roster build.

I do not think Carrol only gets 1 year on a team that was already a dumpster fire. You bring him in for a few years to put it out.
Unless he was the one advocating for an already failed coach with a very vanilla offense.

WONT matter who they start between the 2, both Buffalo and New England are just better overall..
It is likely that Stefanski, Gannon, Carroll & McDaniel will all be moving on after this season, leaving 6 vacancies. Surprise fires would be Todd Bowles and Raheem Morris, so it could get up to 8.

Morris being fired be no surprise. He's been toast for weeks.

I would keep him as well but not as Head Coach. Shanahan nailed it.
Hot seat games this week:

  • Kevin Stefanski, Cleveland Browns (3-12). Steelers -4.5 @ Browns - Steelers win the AFC North with a win over the Browns, so expect them to pull out all stops to win this game in order to avoid an all-or-nothing matchup with the Ravens.
  • Jonathan Gannon, Arizona Cardinals (3-12). Cardinals +7 @ Bengals.
  • Pete Carroll, Las Vegas Raiders (2-13). Giants +1.5 @ Raiders.
  • Mike McDaniel, Miami Dolphins (6-9). Buccaneers -5.5 @ Dolphins - Bucs desperately need to win this one to keep their NFC South title hopes alive. Panthers are heavy underdogs to the Seahawks, so a Bucs win likely puts them in the driver's seat for the #4 seed. A loss to the Dolphins adds Todd Bowles to the hot seat.
  • Raheem Morris, Atlanta Falcons (5-9). Rams -8.5 @ Falcons - Rams are fighting for the NFC West title and #1 seed, so they also will not take the foot off the pedal against the Falcons.

Upcoming Hot Seat Games. Often head coaches are fired the week before the last game, so watch for news on Gannon and Carroll. If Falcons lose tonight, Morris could be released tomorrow.

  • Raheem Morris, Atlanta Falcons (6-9). Rams -7.5 @ Falcons - Despite the spread, this one is a toss up since McVay might opt to rest starters. If Falcons lose the last two games I would say there is a 90% likelihood that he loses his job
  • Todd Bowles, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-9). Panthers +2.5 @ Buccaneers - Bowles needs to win to make that playoffs. Lose this game and he is at 75% likelihood of losing his job.
  • Kevin Stefanski, Cleveland Browns (4-12). Browns +7 @ Bengals - I put Stefanski at 100% being fired regardless of outcome.
  • Mike McDaniel, Miami Dolphins (7-9). Dolphins +11.5 @ Patriots - McDaniel has made a respectable showing and I put his firing likelihood at 50%
  • Pete Carroll, Las Vegas Raiders (2-14). Chiefs -5.5 @ Raiders - This team once again is imploding and needs to start fresh. I would say there is a 90% likelihood of firing Pete.
  • Jonathan Gannon, Arizona Cardinals (3-13). Cardinals +9.5 @ Rams - Gannon is 100% fired regardless outcome.

If the Jets get beaten down by the Bills with them likely resting guys I can see Glenn being one and done.

His status as a Jets alumni makes him safe for at least a year.

From Giants WIre: "...Kubiak, 38, is the son of former NFL quarterback and Super Bowl-winning head coach Gary Kubiak. The younger Kubiak is going to be a hot name on the coaching carousel this offseason. Kubiak is in his 12th NFL season as an assistant and first with the Seahawks under head coach Mike McDonald. He previously served as the offensive coordinator of the New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings and the passing game coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos. He could be the perfect candidate to help develop quarterback Jaxson Dart..."

I wonder if Klint will try to poach Klay if Klint gets a head coach job.
