They didn't suck on D when that's all he was focused on. Obviously, he got thrown to the wolves as interim and was very much overwhelmed. He's nowhere near ready to coach an entire team and plus who the F wants to coach Aaron 'Naked and Afraid' Rodgers

Gym Shorts is the Wide 9 guru and he and Kocurek have a very good relationship already so I don't see it being an issue.

I think he 100% gets the axe. But hope he lands on his feet somewhere.

Sorenson was put in a tough spot. Inexperienced coach being asked to be a DC on a team with SB aspirations. Feel bad for the guy even though we don't know anything about him personally.

There were a few games where the offense let the defense down as well. Just a team that didn't play complementary football and everyone looks bad in that scenario.

While I'm not exactly on Ulbrich train I wouldn't hold that against him and I do understand some of the pros in hiring him.

He has experience and more importantly experience under Saleh so you could insert him in the position without severe growing pains like we're seeing with Sorensen.

There is a chance he could bring some Jets staff over and they could be upgrades over our current staff.

It's hard to imagine him running the defense any worse than Sorensen so he'd likely be an automatic upgrade at least.

However I still hope in the remote chance Shanahan hits the reset button on the defense and go in a different direction. The current scheme is just way too talent dependent to work at a high level and right now the more effective defenses are the ones that stress offenses mentally not physically.

I think most of us loved him when he was here, and died a little inside when he retired early. Outside of that he is a direct connection to a guy that actually had this defense working.

Personally I really wish we would stop shedding coaching continuity. At this point I wish we would get a fundamentals guy to act as a defensive CEO.

No first time DCs, we need to bring in someone with experience, rather that is college or the NFL.

Somebody on here mentioned firing Brian Schneider and moving Sorensen over to ST coach since he has experience there. Then hire a new DC.

I wouldn't hate it tbh.
