QB Sam Darnold is a Viking

Seems like it's a dead heat for #2. Both guys started slow but improved as they played.

So dont play him if you want to trade him. Find some excuse to give him a break, as he may hurt his value.

That's assuming those two drives raised his trade value in any real way. Hard to believe. Would be worth it to 'risk' it and build on the performance anyway from multiple angles.

Obviously he's playing next week, this hypothetical aside.

No I'm just saying that I notice when they want to cut or trade that player, they give them alot of playing time in the last preseason game.

I don't think it's going to though, lol. His trade value is what it is. There's other reasons to play him.

They're not gonna trade either. It will be Brock-Sam-Trey on the depth chart to start the season.

I hear you but this kid is SEVERELY limited in game reps. I mean,.....the 3 major mistakes he had this game (middle, right, left) you can all attribute clearly to a lack of game-time reps.

At least 2 of the 3 were meh plays in practice,...that are absolute no-no's in games.

Sitting in his 1st year and the 2nd year injury would likely have them scrambling to get some live action game reps in the 3rd PS game if Brock is the starter.

After the mess we had last year @ the QB spot.....I have no idea why there's a contingent amongst that that is praying that we reduce our QB depth for "whatever" in return. Weird stuff.

It's clear as day that the 49ers want 3 legit QB options on this year's team.

Before the preseason game I (like a few other folks) felt it was weird building up Sam... with Greg Papa saying that he could possibly push Brock for the starting role. Some said that message had to be coming from the 9er FO... but why? To motivate Trey? To build up Sam in case they wanted to trade him?

I don't know. I'd prefer we didn't trade Sam Darnold. I want us to make a serious Super Bowl run... and I'd want that to include Trey and Sam.. I would hate for us to be in a situation where it was Trey and Allen or Sam and Allen... with Allen one hit away from having to start.

I think Sam can do well more often than not with our team.. with our weapons and Kyle's ablity to get folks open for him. Would he have that extra it to help us beat tough playoff teams? I'm not sure about that. But I sure as hell don't think Brandon Allen could.

Nice back-handed compliment there. Trey ain't getting traded at all. If any QB were to get traded, even though that is not going to happen, it would be Darnold.
