found an old clip from before the draft. Simms has repeated this claim many times on his show. --

Appreciate the link. Still, feels like theres a big leap between a rumor that Peters liked Lance and him actually playing a major role in the pick.

I think the only time they attributed a pick officially to Peters was the Ambry pick. Everything else is just assumptions. I will say they seem to have drafted much better ('24, '25) with Peters gone, but correlation does not necessarily mean causation

Truth be told, for all the credit Peters used to get, seeing some of the signings- Kinlaw, Jackson, and his love of Lance make me think he wasnt nearly as much the real talent as some wanted to make him to be. He leaves and suddenly we start drafting well again?

I've been saying this for years. I never understood the Adam Peters love. There's zero evidence that he was ever responsible for drafting a single impact player during his time here. The only players we know for certain that he played a major role in drafting were Trey Lance and Ambry Thomas. We can presume now that he also loved Javon Kinlaw and liked Drake Jackson based on his decisions to sign them as the GM of Washington. The fact that the 49ers sat on their hands and didn't give a s**t that he was leaving for Washington signaled to me all I needed to know about they felt about Peters. Not saying he's a bum or whatever, he's sure as hell not some draft savant that a lot of 49ers' fans around here tried to make him out to be. I bet Shanny sure feels f**king vindicated right now seeing what Mac Jones is doing in his offense. He had it right all along.

Don't go to the Commander's forums/social media and see what they're saying about Peters right now.

I also remember the Peters slob fest going on around this time last year. Hurts for people to admit we have a top 5 HC/GM combo.

I knew it. Signing Kinlaw to 3 years/45 million was my smoking gun. Then we suddenly start drafting decent again. The 2024 and 2025 draft classes do not have any All-Pros/stars yet, but it's the best we had done in years after a down 2022 (with respect to Brock Purdy) and 2023. Then they sign this guy? Washington is going down.
Imagine is this dude was available, lived up to just half the hype and had a desire to play.
