Unbelievable. Still a few years away before the LA Olympics but sure hope no Niners participate in this. Heard it will pull players away from training camp. That along with the potential for star or key players to get injured right before the season starts...no thanks.
Sadly I can see it being enticing, easy money, easy gold medal. Doubt it takes away from training camp that would be pretty bad

More than safety, I just don't think a majority of the league likes plays where a player is assisted by other players who don't have the ball. I'd expect a general ban on any player assisting the momentum of the player with the ball.

i don't necessarily think the league should ban the play. i do think it's unfair that the offense can push and the defense cannot push. the way to stop the play is to pack the D in tight and have a second level (LB level) pushing your DL. that would balance the play out and stonewall the offense. but the D isn't allowed to defend the play that way. i don't like that aspect of it. if the D wants to sell out to stuff it with their own 'shove' they should be allowed to do so.

It's moving a little towards a rugby scrum, but the D should be allowed to push back.
