This
This thread reminds me of the people who still do civil war re-enactments.
Its over… the ship has sailed.
That is not the right metaphor for this topic. Beyond that you are correct, there is no putting the toothpaste back in the tube.
If Brady comes back, and I don't think he will, it sure won't be with the 49ers.
We could have used him in 2000 but our decision makers were dumb.

The only thing comical is Shanahan passing on Brady 2 years ago.
Not as comical as passing on Mahomes in favor of Solomon Thomas but a close 2nd.
We were coming off a SB and brady looked like s**t at the end of that year.. it was an easy choice
Brady looked like s**t????
12-4 record, 4,000 yards passing with 24 TD's and 8 INT's
I'll take that and Tom Brady any day over whatever the hell the 9ers had in the last 20 years.
he did..it is what it is
But it isn't. It's your opinion. Brady winning Super Bowls is what it is. Brady passing for 4,000 yards in 2019 is what it is. Lynch choosing Jimmy over Tom Brady is what it is.

Brady didn't win a super bowl that year and Jimmy who's in a run based offense had a better year than Brady I repeat jimmy had a better year than Brady lol
i chose facts, you chose Brady's past

Bingo, that's the one, thank you.

dont the owners of the Bucs also own Manchester United? I haven't seen it reported on NFL pages but Brady and his wife were spotted at Manchester United's game yesterday in England. Might have been meeting with the Glazers. Unknowingly yesterday might have been a key day in the Brady to 49ers saga.

this whole brady to niners talk is absolutely comically. If the team did actually choose Brady over Jimmy after losing the super bowl, they would have still sucked in 2020 given the numerous injuries (No Bosa, No Sherm, etc) and most likely missed the playoffs. Hell Brady is a statue and would likely have missed at least a few games to injury behind that garbage offensive line (We had someone called Grasu as our center for multiple games and Skinny McGlinchey that was one of the worst tackles at pass protection). A subpar year after sustaining multiple sacks/possibly injury would have likely led to retirement early.
He went to the perfect situation with TB with elite WRs, great oline, and most importantly (and something no one emphasizes enough) the best defense in the NFL in 2020 (made Mahomes look like the worst QB in the league in the super bowl, way better than our 2019 defense). Look what happened just one year later in 2020, several injuries to that Bucs team and he lost in a game he WAS FAVORED TO WIN against Stafford. Btw he lost to them earlier also so he clearly struggles against Donald and that D with a large part due to his lack of mobility.
You guys really want to trade the future of the team (going to require multiple draft picks) for a 45 year old statue just to possible win 1 SB if everything goes perfect (No injuries LOL ya right, Defense as good as 2020 Bucs, highly unlikely). There is a strong possibility that his arm strength starts to deteriorate (look at Big Ben) and a high probability of injury that comes with age and fact he will be behind one of weaker olines in his career.

We would have won the SB in 2021. And likely favorites to repeat next year. Let's not make the same mistake again. Brady 2022 !!!

Hindsight is easy to place blame on the organization for not bringing Brady on board but no one was clamoring for it to happen. Tom was coming off one of his worst seasons as a Patriot and most all thought he was in his decline. Also, Jimmy was coming off of a SB appearance.

Its never going to happen simply because the Niners can never have good things happen to them even if Brady shows up to the door and asks for a job

Well the most important position on the team still isn't settled after 5 years on the job. I am very concerned for Kyle and Lynch's future if Trey doesn't work out. And I am a pro Lance guy

But the point is and was, that good things have happened to us.
