Definitely!

But with a broken finger we don't need him fumbling the ball. I'd rather go with Sermon.

Yeah, I'd go with Sermon or Wilson.

Wilson just came back hopefully he returns to form this Sunday.

no, this is a must win.. if we lose this weekend. there is no more week or two.. some of you act like we are in the drivers seat for a playoff spot.. no.. every game is a must win,. you need all your playmakers if they can play.. we got lucky with a terrible team last weekend.. but this weekend its a dang good team and we can not be so arrogant or foolish to just think, we can rest him. win and then he comes back next weekend.. no... if he can play. he plays. he is our best running back and we are backed into a corner. in a big game. i do not trust sermon at all. he is not worthy of his draft status in my opinion. you do not worry about deebo getting hurt at running back. if they can play. they play. we have no time to f**k around here

100% agree cc. Wilson looked like a plodder the last 2 games and fumbled!!! Not good. We need Mitchell, enough said

Wilson got hit with a pretty serious injury. I think it will take him another offseason to get to 100%. On top of that - he's been a work horse the last couple of years. His body is banged up. Considering Kyle's ability to spot running backs in the Discount Double Check Grocery Store Employment boards, one option is to trade Jeff for a possible 5th rounder (a la Brieda) and find another Mitchell/Mostert/Brieda kind of RB in next years offseason cycle. Someone younger and without an injury history.

Totally agree, I just hoped he isn't rushed back and makes a crucial fumble.

Yeah, I'd go with Sermon or Wilson.

Sermon looks like he's ready to explode, seems the more snaps he gets the better he is.
If Elijah can't go and the broken finger wth pin is a detriment (both are operative here), don't be surprised if Deebo lines up at RB. Hopefully Sermon will get some snaps, but the sensation at RB last game….was no fluke.

As for Elijah, they can tell if his finger is a liability well before the game, and kyle is probably just messing with Vikes that he will play. If there is any diminution of Elijah's ability to hold onto the ball, i truly hope he doesn't play or get injured worse…unless it is 4th and short near the goal line and he comes in, and is used as a decoy. That is what i think is more likely to happen.

Much as I admire Elijah, i don't want to see him get hurt worse , and i don't want to see him lose the ball because of his bad finger. Kinda hope he doesn't play…unless this is a pinkie injury and can be well protected and isn't critical for holding onto the ball.
Isn't Wilson available for the 2nd week back from injury? I'm fine with Mitchell taking another week off.

You're describing most RBs in the league.
Mitchell needs to rest the finger as we will need him in the long run. JWJ will be just fine for another week as the lead back. Sermon can rotate but this isn't his year.

Agree. We need Mitchell fully healthy for stretch run

I hope you are right. I am impressed with his hands. He'd be a great FB blocking for Deebo. I hope that you are right that he's getting better in the run game.
