Lance in for Herbert
havent even dialed up a pass yet for Lance
How many games has Trey played in the NFL since 2021? He had his chance and could not step up. It is lucky he is still in the League. And all the experts on this forum who thought he was the next best thing since sliced bread went on the market. Some know zip about picking football talent

ALL of us know zip about picking football talent; some are just too arrogant to know it.

This coming from one of the biggest Jimmy G simps that exists.

I'm not sure I've seen anyone say that Lance was gonna be this great QB. We just understood that Jimmy was not that good and we needed to move on. Trey had a lot attributes that teams look for when drafting a QB. Size, arm strength, athleticism. But unless he understood how to throw with anticipation, how to read defenses well, developed good pocket presence, it doesn't matter that he had the physical attributes.

Drafting QBs is very difficult and you don't know how they are gonna play against the pros and how they will develop. That entire draft class was basically a bust and even Lawrence hasn't lived up to the #1 pick at all.

Plenty of people said he was gonna be a great QB,the word phenom was thrown around by a few along with Josh Allan comparisons.

lol, I don't know about that. But coming out many looked at the potential of someone built like Trey, groomed by Kyle from the ground up. I think that was what some were excited about. Kyle could mold Trey into the QB he wanted, with all the benefits of Trey's athletic ability and strong arm.

Coming out of college Trey showed he could protect the ball, had a good ability to sell a play action (hide the ball), and of course run forward.

But again this is when folks thought Kyle was some type of QB whisperer lol. But the QBs that have done well for Kyle, were QBs that fell onto his lap. Not ones he drafted/picked out. There were others who spotted Brock and convinced Kyle to get him. Kyle brought Brian Hoys**t here, reached (trade up?) for Beathard, would have loved to have Kirk Cousins (lol), supposedly wanted Trey. Jimmy fell into his lap.. Tom Brady almost fell into his lap, but Kyle moved his lap out of the way.

Yeah Josh Allen comparison because of size and arm strength. Throwing from different angles. Seeing leak footage like this..

But that's in the past. What we have now is someone in a different situation..different responsibilities.

This is what they are asking of him..

"Be the leader on the field and leader in terms of executing the run play or the pass play with efficiency, securing the ball and added responsibility of making sure that we win," Harbaugh added.

When he came in that game, they didn't know how many plays Herbert would be out, so kept it conservative... ran the ball... didn't want to turn the ball over..

What I see from him though, is that he still takes a few drives to get into rhythm.

If he has to start vs the Eagles Monday night, that's one hell of a game to get thrown into....Vic Fangio at that lol. But that's what comes with the territory. QBs dream of any starting opportunities. He needs to take full advantage of it and help get an important win for his team. Don't do too much. Be decisive, if he wants to run, go all in and run... if he sees an opening for a pass, put everything into the throw at that moment.

I just don't trust Roman to have a good gameplan vs Fangio.

Maybe a few people, but still highly doubt it. And if they did, that's just dumb. Comparing their physical attributes makes sense though.

Share a few of them so I can have a laugh as well. I know people thought he had the physical attributes to be great, but I don't recall anyone already crowning him.

Are you incapable of going back and seeing older posts from when he was drafted and throughout training camp? A lot of fans were confident that he'd be the best Qb of that class, and if someone dared to disagree, they were getting ridiculed. Now granted that qb class ended up being an all-time low, but Trey still ended up the worst of the bunch. Mac Jones, who a large majority of the fans despised the idea of drafting, is light years better than Trey Lance. As far as "physical attributes" , sure he looked good against future fed ex drivers in 1 CFB season, but once he had to go up against NFL caliber players, they didn't look so impressive. And again, if someone ever brought that up, fans were picking up pitchforks

You were right. 👏 👏 👏 Congratulations. You good now? Maybe you should apply to be a scout. Apparently you definitely know QBs better than Kyle Shanahan. I hope someone in the front office sees this thread and hires you. The 49ers will become the best franchise in the NFL and probably have two all-pro QBs in uniform every season for as long as your there.
