Odds are good on that

i guess the minshew door is closed on being our #2.. if there was a team we can unload Jimmy's pay on

Not that I think it's very likely but the Jets seem like the best option for Jimmy I think. Familiar with the coaching staff, they have a ton of cap space, a ton of draft picks and could use a good backup to Zach Wilson.
A good option too, but I think that since we are closer to saleh something should have happened sooner. This waiting game has me thinking we are set

I'm still thinking that Jimmy starts the first few games of the season and we play it by ear with Trey. Going to be interesting and for once in a long time I'm really excited to watch preseason as I think they play Lance a lot during those 3 games
Yeah I think jg is the starter until he sinks. Would you play Lance towards the end of preseason games against lesser talent to build confidence or just throw him in against a mixture of one's and twos and hope for the best?

Perfect answer. Any thot of trading Jimmy is nutty. We have best QB situation in the NFL, with a proven 23-8 starter, and a #3 pick in the draft, who is prophesied to be the next coming of all world QBs, big arm, great runner, supposedly photographic memory and is able to learn Kyle's playbook quickly, weighs 230, like Jimmy a great leader, and so on.

Barring another 32 guys on IR yr, we are a legit top 2, maybe top 3 favorite to make the SB, and like no other team in the league, have 2 starting QBs, at least potentially…and that is if Trey is as good as his fans predict. If the above is true, there isn't a way in the world JL/KS are going to trade JG. We are set up too perfectly to make a mistake like that.

Has anyone forgotten the "next coming" in Mullie…or CJ? We have a proven winner in jimmyG , and can only hope that Trey lives up to his accolades.
Whatever, we are set for the long 17 game run, plus how ever many after that. Why on earth risk this one beautiful opportunity to play all season with 2
Ace QBs (one proven, the other we can hope).

This is a 1 time opportunity to use this advantage over the entire NFL. Let's not blow it by even thinking about trading the guy who most likely will be our starter this yr, with a backup who will also probably be starter material this yr. Every other NFL team would love to have our advantage this yr with two likely starters at QB. Cherish the fact that no matter who starts as our #1 QB, our other QB is #1a.

With the massive # of injuries league wide last yr, and that included a bunch of QBs…guys…fans…bros…THIS is our yr.

Jimmy is rated the #22 QB in a 32 QB league and you appear so excited to have a middle of the pack QB who can't run play a season. NO CHANCE. I know I've seen enough of Jimmy and I expect that Kyle feels the same way. I'll bet the competition is over in a nano second. It's Trey's time and Kyle isn't waiting...

Not based on 2019 he isn't. On an injury plagued 2020 yes

Come on, Trey - sign on that dotted line, brother.

I am very intrigued to see how the front office will handle it. I don't think it's the end of the world if he plays good ball at his current rate and we get a nice trade tho money off would be ideal.

He should take a 8M pay cut, because if not he's not getting traded for much and maybe a team won't pay him 20M plus.
Trey will sign tomorrow right before like bosa did two years ago

It'll look real bad if he doesn't sign in time.

Unless a team loses a QB I don't see him getting moved (no one was ever taking on that contract otherwise) really at this pt it's keep things like they are or ask Jimmy for a pay cut.

There's absolutely no reason why he won't sign before, again it's all about off set and we've given that to every top 10 pick under this FO.

I don't think he's been in Santa Clara and I'm assuming they're waiting until he gets here to sign, take pics, the whole thing.

Yeah, there shouldn't be a problem. Just don't want the kid to have a blemish on his perfect image so far.
Most likely signing today

I hear ya, there's really nothing to worry about in regards to rookies holding out at this point....once trey get's into Santa Clara he will use the big feather quill pen to sign the deal, gotta make it look good for the camera
