This is the Trey Lance thread. Abandon all rationale ye who enter here.

The trade was bad because we got zero impact from incredibly valuable assets for at least two years going on three, when our team was on the doorstep of winning the Super Bowl in those years. And that's just one angle of the failure. There were/are plenty others, some of which we may miraculously avoid.

It's safe to say we don't end up with Hill, Waddle, and Chubb. It's also safe to say we couldn't have gotten less from what we did so far.

No argument from me in that it's reasonable to speculate the three 1st rounders would be more impactful than what Lance has provided the past two seasons. My post was pointed to those that thought the 49ers could have had Hill/Waddle/Chubb instead of Lance. It clearly shows that MIA had to add in assets to acquire those players. My main point being that the graphic showing Lance with Hill/Waddle/Chubb is misleading and has misled.

I think it's kinda awesome how you ask such a question without any regards to the salary cap or who you're taking off the team to balance it out. Just throwing it up on a wall and seeing what's what, right?

Right. And people didn't think it was possible to sign Javon Hargrave during this time. And with that said they still have to find a way to re-sign Bosa to a billion dollars.

I think the convo on the trade up to acquire TL is not only part of the TL thread, but will be a discussion for some time to come. It's like Alex vs Aaron. Some convos are here to stay, cuz they are such big moments / moves, in franchise history.

lmao do you even football? what a stupid post

Waddle and Hill would have quit if they played with a QB who didnt throw downfield.

Imagine thinking it would have been Lance or these 3.

Waddle cost 2 first and a 4th

Chubb cost 1st 4th and a RB

Hill cost a 2022 first-round pick (No. 29), second-round pick (No. 50) and fourth-round pick, plus fourth- and sixth-round picks in the 2023 draft

Look at that, 3 for 3. The usual suspects. Amazing.

Exactly. That's how you "talk football" in the dog days of summer before camp even starts.
