Trey isn't going to be traded, and Kyle knows those injuries aren't Trey's fault, but more on Kyle for calling QB power so much. Trey has a Steve Young level physical talent, and Kyle knows if he can get Trey up to speed the way he did Brock, this guy can dominate the NFL.
...because everyone knows it's a buyer's market as far as Lance is concerned. Despite his athletic skill set, his lack of experience is killing the market. Nobody is going to give Lynch what he wants for Lance and Lynch isn't going to toss Lance aside for what is being offered. It actually works in the 49ers' favor to be able to keep him, develop him, and then see where things go.
As it stands now, the 49ers have three guys with starter qualities, even FQB qualities for the future. At some point, holding onto all three is going to bring significant draft capital when the opportunity arises.
Exactly trades happen for a number of reasons but all of them take two to tango.
49ers in a situation where they cannot trade away Trey due to his positional value, status of his contract, status of our QB room right now and how last year went down.
Other teams looking to trade for Trey don't have a lot of tape on him, see injury history and a shortened rookie contract that's on the higher side due to his draft slot.
It's not a situation built for a trade to happen. It was a similar situation to Deebo being traded last year. When a player is worth more to his team than another, it's hard to get a trade done.
Best thing for the 49ers is Trey comes in hungry and ready to show why he was taken so high in the draft, Darnold shows that he can pickup the offense and not turn the ball over in our scheme as much as he did with other teams and Brock comes back healthy and ready to pick up where he left off before his injury.
It gives us a great QB room, it gives us a chance to trade whichever QB if another team gets desperate mid season and we feel good about our guys.
