They ain't moving Lance until they actually see what Brock is post surgery. It would be horrible roster management. I wouldn't put it past Kyle though. He's pretty s**tty figuring at the QB position and living in the moment.

Yeah, agree, NY. Though, it would spice things up, if something happened on Thursday.

That's not the spice we need lol.

There's no reason to move him unless it equals Rogers/Brady in read and gold or 1st rd picks (and then some).

Lance and Purdy are not being used the same way.
Lance 4 games - 54 rushing attempts - 4.4 ypc
Purdy 6 games - 22 rushing attempts - 0.6 ypc.

Lance was used as a battering ram, Purdy was not.
Why do you think that is?

"Rushing attempts" people acting like every rush by a QB was a designed run lol. Christ hat a useless stat. A scramble is not a designed run. s**t even a read option isn't a designed run for just the QB. it depends on the "read"

49ers are not trading Lance. I think Kyle is still confident he can develop Trey. As for us fans, we won't know the results of his coaching till - I would think - preseason. That's when we can see him play in a real football game. Odds are that Trey will be a good QB for us and hopefully - maybe - good enough to challenge for the QB1 position in a year or two so that ShanaLynch can showcase him for a possible trade. As for winning the QB1, Trey has to look good in preseason, but the records and the achievement that Brock did in 2022 is hard to overcome. Statistically, Brock looks like a generational talent. Gameplay-wise Brock is unbeaten, whereas Trey is .500.

This. People's trade fantasies aside, trading Lance would hurt the team in almost every scenario, not to mention the fact they could lose out on a kid who very well may develop into a superstar in the league. We had fewer options when we went all in with Jimmy after his first few games, we can afford patience now.

Yeah, I hated watching all those runs that were majorly ineffective. I think it had a lot to do with lances ability to pass the balll and operate the offense though.

it's been widely reported that he struggled with it all during camp.
I agree Kyle wasn't confident in Treys ability to run the offense so he simplified things and leaned on Treys running ability.

Or Kyle was game planning for specific opponents and conditions. No matter who the QB was, the weather in the 2 games Trey played last year would have made the team lean more heavily on the run, and a running QB opens that up even more. It's silly to assume Trey would have been used that way all season had he stayed healthy.

The problem is he is a QB. Only 1 gets playing time. If he is the guy that is fine, but if Purdy is Trey will never develop. they can not afford to exercise his 5th year as a backup, and an acquiring team may not want to on an unknown fit.

So his best value is now up to the trade deadline this year.

Who would we get rid of to make cap room for rodgers/brady

I tried to watch this thinking it would be something other than assumptions and opinions. I turned it off after a few minutes.

The thumbnail was enough for me

Why anyone would take content creators' bait clicking speculation serious, is beyond me. All of these guys are in business to make money. They have no sources or insiders. I listen to a few of them, mostly in-season where there is actual news not rumors.
The worst:
G Cohn ( never listen )
L Kreuger ( closing in on Cohn, but has good guests at times )
HAM ( much more speculation than before, trying to up their subscribers maybe )
Just started listening to > B Graham & J Naylor
I like jonnydel & V Kumaran

Yeah the moment I saw the word "cut" I was done. Even those who never rated Trey wouldn't disconnect from logic far enough to say we couldn't even get a 7th rounder which invalidates any thought that cutting is even a reasonable option.

I have no clue. It's not gonna happen but they could make it happen if they really really wanted it to…Toss in void yrs or Rogers restructuring/pay cut etc

Yikes.

Told you he was bad in practice and the players weren't excited about him. What don't people understand that he CANNOT operate the offense efficiently right now. After two years of practicing it. It's a serious problem.

Hence, Kyle ran a ton with him for a reason. Told you he isn't super mobile either. He isn't anywhere near the level of Lamar, fields, murray etc. anywhere near.

this has come from MULTIPLE people AT PRACTICES. AT THE FACILITIES.

he needs A LOT of game experience to find out if he is even capable of being solid.

This is what was behind all the Deebo trade talk last year, he knew TL couldn't feed him so he wanted to move on to a QB who could

You people and your wild theories. What's funnier is you all believe this nonsense. Like truly honestly believe it.
