That's what bugs me about him. You really think Lance,Jones,Lawrence etc would of done that poorly?

Yes. Did you look at Lawrence's rookie year? He had 12 TD's and 17 picks his rookie season. His rating was 71.9 and he only completed 59.6% of his passes.

Yeah, pending to see how the elbow shakes out for Dirty, I think the writing is on the wall for Trey and his chance to stay here, let alone winning the starters job. We all love Trey and want nothing but the best for him. I hope this all has a happy ending for all.

He needs to get real reps. Not likely to happen here in the near future.

Yeah, depending on how things shake out, I think Trey's chances are dwindling here. I just hope he finds happiness else where, if things don't work out here.

Yeah it was disgusting but you're missing the point. Lance and Lawrence were in two different worlds. Lol to compare them or think it's comparable is wild. Lol

lance on that team would of been ugly as hell too. I don't think anyone would of had a good season with that staff/culture/players

you can't overcome all of that, no matter how good you are. He may not of played spectacular here but Lawrence would of looked exceptionally better in these circumstances than the ones he had his rookie year. That year should be burned from history. Lol that poor b*****d

Yeah but the minute we bring up other factors that lead to the Bears loss or Lance not being as productive….that's excuses. Lawrence and his horrible QB play over a full season? That's his surroundings. The film doesn't matter for him apparently?

I disagree Lawrence would have looked exceptionally better. He couldn't see the field well. He was slow at processing. His footwork was not good. That's all s**t that's on him. They ran a similar offense to what he ran in Clemson all the same. Took him a solid year (and more) to get acclimated to playing at the NFL level. Yes coaching and roster play a big part. I mean what would have Brock looked like in Jacksonville if we're gonna go that route?

All I'm saying is be consistent in the debate.

People don't like being wrong, lol. Either way, I do agree with you on what the majority of fans would support overall.

As far as what Lombardi was seeing, I'm sure he's referencing Twitter... and you will absolutely see a vocal minority of fans and blogger/vlogger types who are advocating for just that.

Who's saying that? You said you don't have to look far…we'll show us, please.

It's like people didn't see any of his play his rookie year. This is just the INTs. Not everyone is on him BUT a f**k ton of these were his fault….we will blame everything else but him apparently, for reasons unknown. But lance? Yeah it's all on him. Can't even have a nuanced discussion about it

david Lombardi def reads our forum. Listen to the beginning lmao

Lombardi basically said Trey stans are embarrassing.

What's more embarrassing, people who think a young and talented QB the team selected after a big trade should be given a chance to compete for the job on an equal playing ground or guys who compete in mental gymnastics to bash the kid and call others "stans"?

Or he has a good off season and doesn't go anywhere. If there's one issue with this team/fan base ya'll put your eggs in one basket (especially at QB) far too often.

Plans change after Dirty appeared before us.

Mayo please…don't go all 9moon on us. I have no idea what you're saying.

I've said it's possible Brock played too good to sit on the bench but I don't understand a trade situation given what the team saw last season. There is no way we can get anything of real value for trade and moving a guy 4 starts into his 23 year career would be a potentially major error before you even see Brock come back healthy and show he hasn't lost anything.

49ers playing with fire here. Much smarter move to keep this QB room for the season and make a run and have Lance compete his ass off to show the best version of himself. Odds are whether he's QB1 to start the season or QB2 once Brock comes back…he's likely to see playing time.

A lot of it has to do with the Jimmy fan base. They didn't want him gone and overall would disprove on the next guy up. They hated how he was criticized after years of football…dude was basically just given the keys to the city (zero competition) after 5 games. Now those same fans are gonna do the same.

they setup an unrealistic scenario where they would "accept" Lance BUT He had to play at Mahomes' level lol.

I'll bet money a good % of people had no clue who Brock was. If they watched him in college, they'd get why he was a day 3 prospect with a limited upside. That said he made the most of his opportunities. Great story. Do we honestly think he's gonna sustain that level of play? Is the TD/INT ratio gonna be like that going forward? Maybe maybe not. Why put all your eggs in one basket off such a small sample size? He's a young (currently injured) QB who will have his ups/downs while developing. I thought as the season went on there was some issues…much like a lot of rookies. So the whole were trying to win a SB so we can't develop a young QB is straight crap imo. We're doing that either way. We don't have prime Rogers/Brady on this roster.

People bring up the Bears game, we didn't win and that's what they say matters. Well do we think those same people wouldn't still s**t on him if he played exactly the same BUT SF won? Yeah right lol. We see it will the Houston game. Downplay any good moment and exaggerate every negative.

I have no idea what Lance will become…I do know we won't find out until he's starts playing. That doesn't mean he should be given the QB1 job. We all agree Brock played too well for that and if healthy he would start out getting the 1st team reps. I don't think it's a situation where we have a set in stone QB1 and everyone else is fighting to be the backup. I expect to see both Brock and Lance play this year more than likely.

And what happens if Brock doesn't play well overall his next 170 passing attempts?

Then the door is wide open for Trey.
