Agreed. I wouldn't expect a trade if for no other reason than a team wouldn't meet our asking price... which I think was a key factor in not trading Jimmy G as well.

Hasn't Lance been working with a trainer this off season? (Not saying he hasn't in the past) I think I saw that somewhere, anyone know who it is?

Since he will be getting a lion share of the reps this off season - anxious to see how he looks.

As far as the some "who have expressed their displeasure on what they've seen so far" goes....dont you think with how limited the sample size is, that those people are being incredibly unfair? I feel like those people dont understand what it takes to develop a QB. They would have wanted Peyton Manning shipped out of town after his rookie year. Everyone who has their mind made up on Lance, or even are doing what you are saying, are being incredibly unfair IMO.

That's far from calling him a bust.

of course it's a small sample size. That's why I said, "on what they've seen so far". Just like how some folks have expressed their displeasure on what they've seen so far with players like TDP and Kinlaw. Yes, different positions and draft capital used to acquire. Point is at all you can do is base opinions are on what's available to date.

if Lance comes out guns blazing and playing like Brock and folks are still criticizing then that's something else.

I'll take Lamer in a heartbeat. The ravens are not a playoff team without him.

there's no reason to move Lance anyway

Yessir

this would time warp us back to 1994 when we went all in to get #5. Lamar and Hargrave plus a full season of CMC

TL isn't getting moved.. unless that scenario took place, then I could see it, otherwise, no.

I believe that being a bust has a lot to do with where you're drafted. Lance always had a super steep hill to climb because he was #3 and we used 3 first round picks overall on him. He's expected to become a top 5 qb in this league in that situation. Will he be a bust? No one knows, he has to play more - my guess is yes, based on what I said above.

i think he will belong in the league and can be a good qb though. Just won't justify his spot/resources used.

Yet it won't matter if the 7th rounder does turn into a star. So if Trey busts here's to hoping Brock becomes.that star.

Biggest thing that inhibits your team is paying big money and not getting the return. Can't get the extension to whichever Qb wrong.

Joke between me and Hoov. Feel free to be condescending though.

"He really should pay you royalties."

I think early on they were a lot more candid because John was new to it but they've become like foxes. A lot of smoke and mirrors - such as they try to not bring in guys for pre draft visits that they think others might be targeting a player earlier than them to throw teams off etc.

you may be right, I just feel like there is something going on from my experience of negotiating for a living.

They'll be straightforward or cryptic and even misleading depending on what they view is the best public message for the team... both on the field and as an organization.

The one positive about Kyle is he is very predictable. Come the start of training camp, Trey will be allowed to compete. But make no mistake, all eyes will be on Trey's accuracy. If the brass doesn't like what they see from Trey, he will be viewed as a stop gap until Purdy is ready to go.

With Purdy on the road to recovery, Kyle is even less likely to change his offense to suit Treys skill set. So either Trey becomes adept at making quick accurate throws or he's done. The fact that we spent so much draft capital doesn't seem to matter much.
