Well you for one wouldn't even let the kid on the field his rookie yr…so save me that was the plan two years ago s**t. He got 5 QRs of football this yr. I mean according to you (and others) he shouldn't see the field in 2021….so you got a little over a game worth of film based on how you wanted it to go down. Congrats.

Zero patience for a 22 yr old QB that hasn't played legit football since 2019….yet all and all the patience in the world for Jimmy G lol. Paid him $2M per game for 61 starts over 6 years! He's missed almost half of his starts since he's gotten paid.

he wasnt ready 2 years ago. last year a little more ready, but not starter material. at least kyle didnt think so. So he ran trey 16 times til he broke is leg. This year, I think he'll be a little more ready than last year. I absolutely want trey to start games, but I'm not optimistic it will be a lot of games. But it could be if he pulls a brock. You never know. But if he doesn't we need a backup plan hence jimmy.

Point of Lance to get a next level QB.. sure, point is more than one way to do it, turns out with this roster pick 262 can do it

People are unwilling.. who cares? what you mean posters on a web forum? doesn't matter what they say KS will set the chart, like always

The same guy that moved heaven and earth to select Trey Lance will have him under center week 1 to start the game

Are we sure that guy is kyle? Not sure if it was kyle. What does kyle say?

I see you are leading the Church of Lance this offseason

like I said weeks ago, I think you are correct, however I can't be 100% certain right now

and even if he is starting 100%.. how long will he last? Year 1 he got hurt in start 1. Year 2 he got hurt in start 2. Quality depth needed in any case.

He signed a 2 yr $18.75M deal which if cut is basically a 1yr $6.75M deal ($2M in DM this yr cap hit last yr was a little over $4M). I'd gladly give him that if we want to cushion ourselves at QB with Brock as an unknown.

who said 150m? that's crazy. not me. never said that or even thought it. who is the liar now.

What do you think he was gonna get paid?? Daniel Jones is looking for $40M a year lol. Carr is about make that. QBs are getting paid even if they're subpar.

you live in a fantasy word if you think Jimmy is gonna just sign another extension for something less then what he already signed for. He's not signing for $25M per. Cap goes up contracts go up. His market value per spotrac is currently 4yrs $140M.

it's crazy, in one breath you defend Jimmy and think he's amazing and then you think he's not gonna make any legit cash as a starting QB.

I don't care about his "market value" I care about what we will pay him. My position is spending decent -- not great -- money on a jimmy short term deal is a good solution to brocks elbow. That's all I'm saying. If we have to pay north of 15, let's consider it as long as its not too far north. I mean, I think jimmy in the saddle is a lot less risky than newbies in kyles system. You never answered about mariota.

we talking Mariota here? i would be on board. What are your thoughts on Tannehill if released on a similar deal? They both are pretty darn athletic with good arm strength, so not very dissimilar from TL. Would improve the room.

He was NEVER gonna be ready until he played legit football. Not sprinkling in a random game once here or couple passes there. You have no idea if he was going to be starter material, kyle thought so because he was QB1. Kyle has no intention of losing games this past season.

He ran the ball 3x in that Seattle game and I believe one was a scramble. They avg 8.5 yards per attempt vs a playoff team on those 17 plays. No different than Jimmy handing the ball off all game vs the packers.

no one is arguing that we don't need a BACKUP QB. Everyone is sayin thanks but no thanks about Jimmy. There's plenty of vet QBs with starting experience that will cost much less. It's time for Jimmy to go elsewhere, if he's as good as you've said then he will get paid and be a starter for years.

No more paying for a QB that you can't count on.

What am I gonna say? I am gonna say you should have replied to the person who initially posed the "if he isnt signed by March 30th" comment. It wasnt me. It was a huge Jimmy fan.

I'm obviously not referencing the date. I'm referencing you being blown away by the fact that some fans want a qb that nobody else wants:

'Completely blows my mind that some of our fans would want a QB that literally no one else wants. Yet here we are.'

My question is what are you going to say *about those fans* if/when he does sign somewhere else.

Edit: scratch this post. I see what you're trying to say... though I'd probably narrow it down to 'nobody wants him as a starter'

LOL dude. That comment was based on the previous sentence....that he isnt signed by March 30th.

Yeah that's Marcus' current deal. Tannehill imo will make more in FA (probably a lot more). He will get a starting gig elsewhere. I have no idea who the titans would even play at QB in that situation? Also Tenn would be eating about half of his $37M

The only qb that hasn't got hurt behind kyle's skinny minny oline is cj beathard. cause he never played. lol. So no paying anyone then?

Well what we would pay, will be VASTLY less than what the market will. Unless you think Jimmy isn't good and a backup QB in the NFL?

f**k no we shouldn't pay even $15M for a one yr deal on a backup QB. SF doesn't have cap space and we have positions that need to be taken care of for players that will be here pasted 2023.

I don't know what you asked about Mariota?

Beathard got hurt actually, try again.

you lack so much nuance if you think it's "skinny OL" that are the reason guys got hurt 😂

and yeah you're right no more paying (overpaying) for a guy that missed half his starts over 6 yrs. Guess that OL in NE was "skinny" Jimmy lasted one game before getting hurt .

I gotcha, that's why I edited my post.

Still, he could feasibly have not signed by March 30th if he wasn't getting starting QB type offers, and it would be far from indicating he has zero value in the NFL. Shouldn't have to wait to understand he has value. He'd be a luxury for any team as a backup.

What happens March 30?
