Now I guess I'll take your word for it but I have a very hard time believing you would have rooted for McCorkle.

That's a long sentence.
I'll keep it shorter for you in the future professor so you can keep up.

Thanks for agreeing to do this. That paragraph was unreadable.

Especially if he really is a transcendental type player. A lot of what ifs, sure, but I like the idea of finding out for ourselves rather than him never having a good chance with us.

This x 100000000

Same exact sentiment I have on the whole situation.

I wanna see what Lance is or isn't for myself before we trade him. Brock going down will allow this so as long as Brock will come back at 100% of what he was when he played this is a silver lining to see what Trey is. If he is underwhelming like Jimmy was we can rock with Brock and make the switch.

.... and this is why it's almost like a bitter sweet sacrifice...

While Purdy is recovering, and still say let him sit for the entire 23 season and hope that Baby Face Trey can stay healthy and not be asked to run the " QB Gap ", and that he gets to showcase his talent...

We do need to bring a veteran just what like English ( who would not PM me back for whatever reason considering his a Moderator ) posted, a guy like Darnold..

BUT if I was running the show, I'd do a 3-way trade.

Lance to Houston - 2nd overall pick to Green Bay - Aaron to SF

Can't imagine Houston doing their part of that trade, but you'd trade the second overall pick for a few years with Rodgers at the end of his career? Interesting...I guess we'd instantly be SB favorites for those years, but I'd rather stick with Purdy + Lance and spend the second overall on DL or OL. Gives us a meaningful shot at sustained success.

Lol Quick History Check: Have you EVER gotten even 1 of these trade proposals even close to being right?

It doesn't take a professor to understand the basic concept of punctuation, but thanks for the compliment!
It doesn't get any douchier than going the grammar police route congratulations.

it's not that I want to trade the 2nd overall pick, but we know that would make Green Bay listen... they may be in love w/one of the QBs in this year's draft and that 2nd overall pick may just the one to get Aaron to SF.

Since Houston's coach is now MECO, he should know if there's any QBs in this year's draft who he likes MORE than Lance.. No ?? if he believe in Lance, then he can make this trade happen.

Plus, we are just not asking for the 2nd overall pick from Houston, if you look at my other posts, we are also askin for the 3rd round this year and their QB (Mills) to be our backup while Purdy is out for the year (or may be forever) and Houston's 1st overall in 2024.

If Lance sucks, then we can have that 1st overall pick in 2024 that can land us 13 from USC !!
Houston would be the laughing stock of the league if they made that trade. Just stop it. Zero chance it happens.

Yep, both Deevah and Aweak ArmHurt have continued to give Shanny his yearly 2nd Place Trophy.

HONEST - you don't think Lance is worth the 2nd overall pick in this year's draft?

as in, you would not pull the trigger if you were Houston?

We've only raised one 2nd place trophy since Kyle's been here….

No. Why would they?

They are in prime position to get a top QB who they have a lot of tape on, who is in the first year of a rookie contract, and isn't coming off a broken leg.

I like Trey, I hope he stays healthy and balls with a strong team around him, something Houston isn't yet.

Houston would be idiots to even glance at that trade.

Plus if you look at what we gave up to move up to 3, they would expect a lot more for it than an inexperienced QB coming off a broken leg regardless of what his potential might be.

49ers need to pay Brock good moneyz $$$

They can't while he is on his last pick rookie contract even if they wanted to. Same as they have to keep paying Lance millions to be Purdy's assistant

Gonna be a long season for you, my friend.

Yep I will have to listen to a lot of belly aching about "why won't they start Lance. They just got to give him a chance". It is going to happen all season long while Purdy is balling and Lance is warming.

If Trey suffers another injury, I'm confident in Purdy coming in again and thrilled we have him on the team. In that scenario, I'm with you and hope he is balling!

Lol it is not Trey's team. Purdy will be all fixed up and take up where he left off. Lance has only proved he can beat the worst team in the league but not the second worst. 49ers deserve a QB who can win more than 33% of their games completed.

Josh Allen was 5-7 his rookie year in 2018.

Did the Bills deserve a qb that could win more than 42% of their games completed?

Peyton Manning went 3-13 his rookie year in 1998.

Did the Cilts deserve a qb that could win more than 23% of their games completed?

Troy Aikman went 0-11 his rookie year in 1989.

Did the Cowboys deserve a qb that could win more than 0% of his games completed?

Unbelievable takes in here off of three freaking games that were non-consecutive. Lance pulling out the Chicago game to go 2-1 as a starter would have said no more about his career trajectory being great than going 1-2 says about his career trajectory being no good. The logic being used in here is worse than subpar.

Draft a QB and get them for 5 years on a rookie deal or trade the pick for a guy that will be on Year 3 of his rookie contract but is basically as raw as your average rookie.

Can I get a hell no?

I wouldn't do it if I were Lynch. We just went through a season of not keeping a single QB on the roster healthy, so getting rid of the only healthy one remaining, especially after what we gave up to get him, before anyone knows exactly how good he can be would be ludicrous. Let's say the SB run ended with our offensive linemen all getting injured. Would the team be smart to trade a few of them away?
