There is absolutely zero evidence in the world to support your opinion that a 15 year vet would not have been able to captain this team to a .500 record.

You can pretend your opinion is factual but it is still just an opinion. An extremely poor one.

Johnson is a 15 year vet with 10 career starts. 2 in the last 4 years. He has never at any point in his career shown to be a reliable starting quarterback in this league. His extremely limited play time, across many different teams, and what he's shown in that play time, should tell you that he couldn't quarterback any team to a .500 record.

Again, I was responding to a poster who said this team would be a .500 team with Josh Johnson at QB. He's still going with it too. Maybe read a couple posts involved in the conversation before assuming where the conversation started.

I mean, the Jets were a .500 team with Zack Wilson as their QB. Our team is substantially better than that Jets team.

Jets team is pretty solid just doesn't have a QB. They wanted to 'see what they have' in Wilson.. well they found out.

The point is, we could be a .500 team with Josh Johnson, we could be much worse. No one knows for sure. But just because Johnson sucks, doesnt mean a loaded team couldnt win 50% of its games. The Jets did that last year, with (like you said) a solid team. Our team is substantially better than solid. And I would argue that you couldnt get much worse than 2022 Zack Wilson.

Who cares about winning 50% of their games.. you don't get a medal or likely playoffs with that.. it's a road to irrelevance. That kind of season may have KS on the hot seat.

Let's get a QB. Even if TL wins MVP next season, great, BP is hurt for a long time here, we need a QB in the picture with TL this offseason.
I wonder if the Niners will keep 3 QB's on their 53 man roster again. They should.

Zach Wilson, as disappointing as he's been in his first two years, is a considerably better player than Josh Johnson, lol. You guys are out of your minds. He also started 9 of the Jets 17 games.

Josh Johnson has 9 career starts (I thought it was 10) and has 1 career victory. He is a bottom of the barrel QB. A fringe practice squad player/emergency QB option.

Is this based on anything other than Trey reacting to him being hired as Titans GM?

Rumour mill will latch onto anything vague and make it into whatever they want for clicks.

I haven't seen anything with substance yet.

Not based on that good luck / fingers crossed emoji mixup

Just current rumors from unknown sources

An anonymous exec said he expects Trey to Titans and Brady to 49ers while Purdy recovers

Titan fans are causing social media to spike with Trey Lance hits bc of it

It is day 2 of our offseason...all chatter and no substance

But this is the normal until next year starts...non stop rumors like this are too easy for media to throw out

Nah, it's poor because you disagree with it. We played with THREE different QBs this year, the 3rd being a rookie who was drafted dead last. Our team simply isn't built around the QB. It's the TRUTH. This team won the NFCCG throwing the ball only 8 times. It's FAR more likely that JJ gets to .500 than not. Sorry that hurts your narrative, but that's how it goes.

At least 5 really. Find a guy that can kick and punt and a backup tackle that can also serve as long snapper to save roster space.

Nobody does. It was a comment I made based on my opinion, but Smokey seems to be the only person who's opinion can be right, so he argued. On to Trey Lance time now!
