It doesn't. It's just a cherry picked stat out of context, especially given the sample size.

Trey also has a QBR in the 30s. I don't subscribe to that stat either, but we can play this game all day

You used Brock's first game which wasn't a full game either.

you also applied no context with the Tampa game. He threw the ball twice in the second half and Johnson came in for a drive.

Week 2 Seattle was his worst possible game?

Just comparing what the two guys did vs the same team. Pretty fair comparison. Brock was clearly better.

Oh boy, I don't know about that. Especially in here. Now that Brock is detracting from everything Jimmy did, people need to throw that much more hate at Trey.

Should compare how they do against the same team. Fairest way to do it. But hey if you wanna compare Jimmy with Seattle vs Brock and Miami Brock still wins the comparison.

Jimmy hasn't played as impressive a game as Brock did against Tampa since 2019 Saints when factoring in competition.

You brought up Seattle knowing Jimmy didn't even play a full game but still made a similar impact as Brock with a full game.

Outside of a bad throw that should have been a pick 6 (got called back on a questionable PI) Brock played a real efficient game vs TB.

The goal was to improve at the position and move on from Jimmy.

Jimmy is done as a Niner. Brock Purdy, not Trey Lance, has made that a reality. You need insurance with Lance.

Well I think a lot of the Jimmy dudes are now gravitating towards Brock…it's kinda an anything but Lance idea, at least that's how it comes off.

Respect for Jimmy and helping the team…his watch is over and he can go get paid elsewhere. We have two very young QBs that are cheap and I expect one of them to be the future.

Right. And because we don't know what Trey can actually do with all these weapons because we've never seen it somehow its a fact that he'd be way behind these guys. Maybe he is. Maybe with the experience he'd be lighting things up now. Let it play out in training camp and see where the chips fall.

Wait didn't Brock get hurt in his first start? I think what you mean is SF needs insurance at the QB position. Period. We have TWO young QBs that can grow and develop. Proclaiming anything beyond that is being foolish.

Not if he is okay with $6 million per year.

I can only speak for myself but I am not a Jimmy guy. I think he's an average starter. That being said, if my team is ready to win the Super Bowl right now, and the option is Trey Lance or Jimmy... I'm playing Jimmy. My criticism is until Brock Purdy emerged, that's the position the team was put in by management. For all we've invested in the position, that's a really bad outcome. Brock is a wild card with the potential for rescuing this clusterf**k of a situation.

So Jimmy lost 60 yards and a td by not playing in one extra series? He played 90% of the damn game.

I'm a Jimmy dude and I agree with you on Lance. Yesterday you were also saying Brock has played well but he hasn't done anything overly amazing yet(paraphrasing). To me Lance has massive potential but Purdy ceiling is maybe a Jimmy with the ability to go deep(sometimes) or a Tannehill. That's not a diss on Brock, that's a compliment but this far he has been Jimmy-esque as far as impact.

I think he'll get an offer to start somewhere else, but if he didn't I'd be happy re-signing him at that price again.

As someone just mentioned, you need insurance if Purdy flops as well. I'm trying to maximize the team's chances of winning now while they have the capability of doing so.

Why won't the team be ready to win a SB in 2024 too?
