This is comically absurd. This is nothing more than rewriting of history based on personal opinions.

My god the bias in Kap is strong in you my friend.

Fields makes all the throws from the pocket and outside the pocket. He's not throw 90mph fastballs every time he drops back to pass.

Give Fields, Jim Harbaugh, Kyle Shanahan or Mike McDaniel. I bet you he'd blow Kaps stats outta the water!!!

Kaepernick averaged more yards and had a higher QB rating than Fields with Tomsula and Chip Kelly as his HC and Jeremy Kerley as his WR1.

I have to question whoever is making our QB draft decisions. I suspect it is KS. Great coach, not a great GM although he knows receivers.

I'm more concerned about giving middle of the road QBs top QB contracts.

Yup. We just don't have good QB evals. And we need another QB imo when JG walks. Most important position in the game and I can't remember the last guy we developed or who was a Pro Bowl type guy. Garcia? Young? Got to go a very long way back.

developing QBs in general is becoming a lost art in the league.
More and more rookies are staritng right away or by midseason.

Outside of the top 5-7 qbs qb play seems to be regressing (sure stats are up in the throwing league)

I am not certain any team has the luxury of Young on the bench for multiple years.

This is how it has been for a long time now. What we did with Trey Lance last year is something that is almost never done with highly drafted QBs.

Almost never done but not unheard of. Phillip Rivers and Aaron Rodgers didn't start right away. Because just like Lance they both had a QB that was capable of taking the team to the playoffs instead of being thrown in the fire right away.

And did you think Lance was capable from starting day one after being off a whole year??

We were following the Mahomes path this was explicitly mentioned by KS.

For as unusual as their situation might be, there is actually a relatively recent blueprint for the Niners to follow if they are going to make their two-quarterback situation work.

It's one Shanahan mentioned as far back as December as the type of ideal model for any team attempting to balance contending with a veteran starter while preparing a talented rookie to eventually take over: the 2017 Kansas City Chiefs.

also

"That's the most obvious example of having a really good quarterback and drafting a young guy and still having a success that year with a veteran and moving on the next year," - Shanahan said the night the Niners drafted Lance.

After 39 games I'd hope so. Again you're basing things off of stats, I'm saying Fields is a much better passer. Its s**tty that you two don't know the difference.
We pretty much nailed the Mahomes path except we didn't get rid of the bridge guy and we didn't get the year 2 MVP type season from the prospect. Other than that; mission accomplished.
Lmao....

From an xs and os standpoint one of those 3 is not like the other.

Crazy how Trey is perceived. He has barely played so objectively you cant make any conclusive statements about him. Yet being out of sight out of mind due to injury has led to NFL fans outside of Niner land to conclude he is a bust.

I guess I prefer he be under the radar when he returns next year

Everything has turned 100% political.

I've been visiting the Webzone since 2005. I've never seen so many people pretend like they want fairness but in reality they just want "fairness" for their guy.

The posters calling him a bust are the same ones crying when people were critical of Jimmy vs Denver. And those same posters are the ones spamming "Fire Kyle" in the coaches thread. But they won't dare criticize Jimmy.

I'm admittedly a Trey fan. I wanted him in the draft from the very beginning. But I can also admit that there's nothing certain about his future. He's shown some flashes but nothing to hang your hat on. I've never said I think Trey would play better than Jimmy because there's no objective way anyone could be sure of that.

Make no mistake… all of the posters who want to pretend they know what Lance will be like going forward are in the Jimmy cult. Coincidence? Absolutely not.

You guys love us vs them nonsense.

I an a Jimmysexual and Treynatic.

You all love to team up on side, this is the same as the Alex and Kap garbage. Lots of the same joiners.

I am not a joiner, I love them both.

LOL at comparing QBs because of their race.

"You guys" has nothing to do with the 49ers. Not the best way to start off a post, per what you've been teaching the last several days. Just reminding you since it seemed like a campaign slogan of yours in different threads:

Let's just here something about the players and the team instead of reassuring us of your preferences. e.g.,...how do you think Lance will fit in with the new puzzle piece (CMC)?

Fields is a very talented thrower of the football and the most explosive runner in his draft. I just feel like he wasn't as comfortable under center and in the pocket when you compare his film to Lance's. It's hard to gauge Ohio State QBs because they are surrounded by so much talent and don't really ask their QBs to make a lot of reads or checks. I wanted Lance but I would have been happy with Fields too.

I don't see any reason you can't respect Fields game and Lance's game at the same time.

Not to mention Kaepernick, who I think fans really turned on and exaggerated his struggles because he was throwing to the worst crop of weapons I've ever seen a NFL team field. Wasn't Patton Kaepernick's #1 WR his last season? I mean seriously. That roster was awful. Worst offense around the QB since like 2004.

Personally, I like/liked all three players, I thought they all bring a lot to the table. Mentally I feel Lance and Fields are much further along at their age but Kaep could throw with touch. He proved that many times. I believe the reports about him was that he wasn't a film junkie like he needed to be. Idk if that's true but it did seem like after he lost some weight he wasn't as effective.

We are two years in and I don't know what TL's game is tbh
