Look, I know trey had his issues and things he needed to get much better at. But it simply drove me nuts reading posters make definitive declarations about Trey, yet Jimmy has similar issues himself. Tonight was brutal, absolutely brutal.

Some of us understand that a 9 year vet and someone with a handful of professional starts shouldnt be held to the same standard.

I said this last week, and even now, Jimmy is probably the better QB right now. But the hope was that come week 15, Trey Lance was as good or the better QB. We got robbed of the chance to find out going to happen or not because of the injury. Injury set the franchise back.

well I'm not going to blow smoke up his ass and say he'd be any better. But its a shame because we'll probably never know.

And he will most likely be rehabbing next year instead of getting some work done with his footwork and mechanics.

Anyone got his negatives? I'm studying up on how to analyze them tonight...

So I was told that the injury to Trey was a "good thing" and that it "increased our super bowl odds" and that this offense would be "more efficient" with Jimmy Garoppolo. That's what I was told, by the media and many fans. That clearly was not the case, at least tonight. This was never a super bowl or bust roster. Defensively, yes it is a SB defense, but our offensive line is way too inexperienced and our WRs haven't proven to be elite pass catchers to call them a SB offense. I always thought that this was going to be a year where we compete but aren't all the way there yet, so I was excited to just see Trey get some experience, go through the growing pains and hopefully come out the other side a better QB than what Jimmy could give us. Unfortunately that was taken away, and so this team is stuck in purgatory until 2023. This team simply cannot overcome the limitations of Jimmy G, and the offensive line needs a year or 2 to develop.

His rebabbing will be done before this calendar Football year is over.

And the fans who celebrated that injury might have well just said, "I don't know s**t about football".

Kyle doesn't hold Jimmy back in terms of his deep passing. It's rough for Jimmy and it hurts the team. But so has Kyle this season with his play calling IMO.

I feel exactly the same.

This team made It to a super bowl and NFCCG with Jimmy at QB, so I can see why some would think like that.

As for me Lance, he clearly wasn't ready either.

I think most of knew deep down that the success of this season would come down to the teams ability to run the ball and playing sound defense.

WHY don't u say it's the HC... he had the power to bench Grappy but did not..

I'd have to respectfully disagree with that. Mike and Brendel are both awful.. I seriously hope we upgrade both, center and RT through the off-season.
