Oh they ain't keeping Jimmy. Not for $27M

Jed has already said he doesn't mind paying Jimmy if he needs to. I don't think he'll need to barring an unforseen injury. But don't think for one minute that if they think they need him that they mind spending the money. Maybe, if the need arises, they try to spread that money out by reworking a deal. Let's just hope the need doesn't arrive.

End of the day it's not really Jed's cash…it's the players revenue. If Jed is cool allocating $27M for a backup QB then fine…I don't think there's a objective person that thinks that's smart financially.

we will see, imo the talk about keeping him is more based around trade tactics.
They should and I believe will just release jimmy He has 0 trade value with the injury and his pricetag. There will be no need for him.

Also, it is the best thing they can do for Jimmy. Let him choose his where he goes next.

If Jimmy Is still part of the team come week 1, It's fair to say that the 9ers F.O have completely failed this off-season.

This Is Lance's team now. Time to move forward.

They are holding onto him at this point for a big QB1 going down. There is no trade market for him. And when they do release him the spin will be just as you said "the best thing the 49ers could do for Jimmy"

I agree. Even though you always would prefer a trade vs just releasing a guy, it makes sense. Having him either competing with Trey or backing him up would only be a distraction and might set Trey's development back another year. Cut the cord and move on.
So, about Trey. Totally stoked about this kid. His work is cut out for him. He seems to learn very quickly. I can't wait to see his growth.

Ya, as a starter. He ain't paying a backup 27 mil.

Jed Yorks words, not mine. Jed Yorks money too, don't know why you're trying to argue with me about it.

Not based on when he said it, the week they drafted Trey. I don't imagine they'll need to though, as I said.

He has all the tools to succeed. Question Is, will he have the protection that's needed to be successful?. We'll find out soon enough.

Read the post directly above yours.

And yes, he's a progression QB.

Ah, I see.

He has sometimes shown that he hesitates though, like the slants play in which he scrambled and completed the first anyway. But he's also correctly run that play.

Yea. This season should be fun. No doubt Trey will have his share of learning experiences to grow from but we should see a very exciting passing game nonetheless.

many other bozos on this site that just bring the whole thing down into a complete embarrassment.

Just click on their names and hide all of their posts. Great feature if you want to avoid the really stupid fans the turn up in here. It makes it so much better.

Thanks Memphis. I didn't know that option was avail. I just blocked all of those too now.

I think they should just trade him to Seattle. The team will end up releasing him and he may sign there anyway, but we'd get nothing in return. May as well get something. I really can't imagine Kyle would be afraid of facing hm twice a year.
