Lol wtf is arm fitness? I haven't been following the thread. Are people worried about his conditioning?

It is what we are supposed to be concerned with now.

I'm not comparing him to Josh Allen but that guy during his rookie season when he started almost the whole time couldn't be determined whether he was going to be just OK or super Duper good. It can't be properly evaluated what the hell Lance's progress is until he has at least a couple seasons worth of starting.

One encouraging sign is his improvement from the HOU first half to the second half of the game. He looked more comfortable as the game went on. I know it was HOU but it's still nice to see that getting game reps resulted in a smoother performance. His first start (week 5 ARI) and his second start (week 17 HOU) were so far apart that there wasn't any chance to take any rhythm he might have had from the first start and transfer it to the week 17 start.

All I want to see is flashes in moments and improvement as the season progresses. He's going to look like a first year starter and once DCs hone in on any weaknesses midyear 2022, he'll struggle a bit and will have to adjust. It's going to be fun monitoring his development this season.

Yes it will be a multi-year process. By probably the midpoint of the 2023 season we'll truly know what we have in him.

bruh (Heroism) you missed out on yesterday. Please read this. Highly entertaining.

Harris, on CBS Sports HQ, said, "But I'm here to tell you, after people I've talked to, everyone I've spoken to expected Jimmy Garoppolo to start [Week 1 against the Bears].

"From players I've talked to and coaches I've talked to who are at the 49ers, Trey Lance is really leaving a lot to be desired in terms of the fitness of his arm, whether or not he can digest the playbook, and can really start to process the game at a high level."
Arm fitness...
I don't know if this was posted here before, but here is an interview on KNBR with one of the guys from 3DQB that has been working with Trey. They don't go into specifics on what things he's working on, but they do go into the process and there are some interesting tidbits.

That's it cut him now. I don't even want to entertain trading him. No one will want him. Matter of fact, Trey owes the 49ers 56 years of servitude for what we gave up for him. He will now work for free, fully taxed in the state of California, and perform any job required that the 49ers organization deems necessary. That includes, but not limited to: Scouting, towels, water jugs, wiping down equipment after practice, hand-stitching players names to the back of their jerseys, gently kissing any player on the forehead if requested, collecting all balls after practice, laundry, and so on. His sentence will be carried out and may be evaluated and considered for NFL parole at year 38.

Funny thing with Houston is 4 of the top 5 rookies got to play vs them (Lawrence twice) Here's their stats....

-WK14 QB rating 73.4, comp%58, 210 yards, 0TD 0INTs, rushing yards 21

Wilson (1-0)
-WK11 QB rating 58, comp%58, 145 yards, 0TDs 1INT, rushing yards 3

Jones (1-0)
-WK5 QB rating 95.3, comp%76, 231 yards ,1TD 1INT, rushing yards 3

And you can't chalk it all up to team, because the Patriots are about as good as us (4th best defense, 2nd in scoring, 8th best running game). Not to mention, Jones had more experience at that point.

Think of the arm fitness!? Think of the children!

Sources and players on the team told me (trust me I know people) that after that throw he should have been taken out of the game due to arm fatigue…but we weren't winning at that point. He had to tough it out…he's still icing his arm to this day, so I've been told by coaches and players
Eh, that throw above was nice but it looks better because Aiyuk got all that YAC.

Throwing before the break from the far hash, 12 yard Out . Converted 3rd & 3.

That shows great anticipation and excellent pre-snap reading.

Yes but the actual throw was s**t. I'm not doubting Lance's ability to read the field. Seems he has the intellect and work ethic to get there. But damn aiyuk had to basically scoop it up and fell on his ass. That's my biggest problem.

Considering the difficulty of the throw claiming it was s**t is just further proof you're just out to nitpick the kid without merit. It was Jennings btw...one of the bigger plays from the season you should try to remember when certain guys come up with big plays.

Except outside and low is exactly where the ball needs to be to avoid a pick.

Difficulty of the throw?
