What are our expectations for Lance this year? Production wise and overall team performance?

MY prediction...
4000 pass yards. 300 rush yards
30/10 TDs/Int. 6 rush tds.

Super bowl champs.

My expectation/hope for this first year with Lance at the controls is that he will be close to as good as Garoppolo has been. The reality is this team was on the very cusp of two Super Bowls with JG as the starter. If he can do that, I'll be delighted. So, while that may have a bit of a pessimistic tone to it, so be it. Lance still has that experience barrier to cross. As Steve Young pointed out, it is not about physical ability. It is about the brain learning to process what the eyes see and the arm then linking it all up. Only with experience do those things work well. That, and the IOL, cause me to be hesitant in my expectations.

I just got back from the lab and I have run 10,000 simulations of maths/data Cynthia Frelund style. Here is what I am coming up with:

Lance 2022 stats

16 starts
4592 pass yds
42 pass TDs
11 INTs
496 rush yds
5 rush TDs

Can't wait for the season to get going so we can put this "Trey's not ready" nonsense from portions of the media and Trey's detractors to bed.

It's clear that the regime would not be trying to trade Jimmy G if they lacked faith in Trey's ability to start and lead the team (to success).

Given what we've seen on the field and the story on Trey's work ethic I feel like our decades long search for a legit FQB is over, but in the unlikely event I am wrong I'll eat crow.

Me as well.

Reasons I am bullish on Trey...

JL and KS staked their pro reputations on TL
Cannon arm you have to defend the entire field
Can extend plays and excel in off schedule plays
Even if you cover it all up he can run for easy yardage and avoid contact
Too many weapons, Kittle, Deebo, BA are lethal
We have bookend tackles
Great run game that teams have to respect with top FB in NFL
KS dialing it all up
Growth should be exponential with off season work, he is getting better every single day

I do blame The Brick After Brick Brothers however, they had a chance to trade for Brady and did not... had a chance to trade for Aaron or Staff and did not...

Do you realize how much had to fall into place for the Rams to win it last season? Stafford went to the Rams because there was a relationship with McVay.

The only mistake we made in hindsight that was actually realistic was not bringing in Brady but at the time it was easy to see why we didn't make the move. We just went to the SB. Tom Brady was going to be 43 and coming off his worst season. The team decided to try to keep continuity to keep winning vs taking a chance on however long Brady had left.

It didn't work out but it's easy to understand why if you actually use logic and not stupid hindsight.

That's a lot to ask for, at least initially, considering that Lance has had only 2 starts so far. He'll need time to find his footing.

That said, the offense as a whole might not perform that differently. Even last year, the offense averaged more yards per play with Lance than it did with Jimmy, though obviously 2 games is a small sample size. It'll be important for Lance to limit turnovers and do a better job at converting on 3rd down. If he's able to do that early on, we'll be fine.
