Maybe you should just read a little better because I did not say that at all.
Here's an excerpt of my post, with what you quoted:
'The people who are crowning Lance as an elite QB already (or an elite QB in waiting), against readily available evidence, are the first ones who will turn against him, and definitely Kyle, if/when he isn't elevating this Super Bowl ready team immediately'
What I'm talking about is people who are expecting Lance to be not just an improvement over JG, but have a Mahomes like 1st season as starter. Go back and see the rest of the post for its full context. None of the available evidence suggests that he will be even an average QB next season, let alone an elite level MVP QB. What we've seen as fans is a QB who needs a ton of work and experience, and saying otherwise is simply wishcasting.
My problem with the situation is that we spent enough to land an established elite QB and we don't even know if we have a QB capable of being a 17 game starter, while the rest of our team is poised to compete for a Super Bowl. The selection was a total bust for improving our team in the first year and we barely missed out on a prime opportunity to win the Super Bowl in that season. It's poor strategy, and we're just beginning to deal with the repercussions. Hopefully he improved in the offseason enough to where he can be trusted to lead the team in the most important position, unlike last season. We needed it last year, we need it now.... not 3 years from now.
