I think Lance, Jones, and Fields will have success.

Pretty worried about Zach Wilson though.

I've been spot in about everybody I've had an opinion on so far when the rest of the board has been sunshine pumping. Furthermore, you guys think I'm a Mac fan because I didn't crap on him in his thread, I could care less about him or the patriots. But it's no secret him plus 2 1st round picks is a much better option than Lance.
None of this matters, the Niners are about to fall off hard and the Bengals about to be the next semi dynasty. They are about to roll with Burrow and a revamped o line.

You didn't notice how small Mac's calves are compared to Trey's.

Why are 49ers fans obsessing over Mac Jones now?! I doubt Pats fans (or really any other fanbase for that matter) gives a rats ass about Trey Lance.

That's because 9ers we're in a position to draft Lance or Jones. Fans ( some anyway ) will continue to make comparisons. Thankfully, the 9ers drafted the best QB available. Good times ahead.

So why obsess over him if you're confident Trey is the best? If you ask the average NFL fan who ls better I'm sure the majority will say Mac while Trey "couldn't even beat out Garoppolo"

It didn't matter what Trey did, he wasn't going to start.
Trey Lance looked like 2005 Alex Smith with legs last year, he did improve in the 2nd half against the Texans after an abysmal start….to the Texans. Not sold at all on him, hope to see improvements

The 2005 Alex Smith that threw 1 touchdown and 11 interceptions? That one?

The same.

Ironically, both QBs got wins at home against bad Texans teams

Probably the same reason why many Niner 'fans' said 'shoulda drafted Mac' at every turn during the course of the '21 season.

Just as obsessed.

Maybe you should just read a little better because I did not say that at all.

Here's an excerpt of my post, with what you quoted:

'The people who are crowning Lance as an elite QB already (or an elite QB in waiting), against readily available evidence, are the first ones who will turn against him, and definitely Kyle, if/when he isn't elevating this Super Bowl ready team immediately'

What I'm talking about is people who are expecting Lance to be not just an improvement over JG, but have a Mahomes like 1st season as starter. Go back and see the rest of the post for its full context. None of the available evidence suggests that he will be even an average QB next season, let alone an elite level MVP QB. What we've seen as fans is a QB who needs a ton of work and experience, and saying otherwise is simply wishcasting.

My problem with the situation is that we spent enough to land an established elite QB and we don't even know if we have a QB capable of being a 17 game starter, while the rest of our team is poised to compete for a Super Bowl. The selection was a total bust for improving our team in the first year and we barely missed out on a prime opportunity to win the Super Bowl in that season. It's poor strategy, and we're just beginning to deal with the repercussions. Hopefully he improved in the offseason enough to where he can be trusted to lead the team in the most important position, unlike last season. We needed it last year, we need it now.... not 3 years from now.

Being better right now doesn't matter. It's about who is going to be better in the longterm. Even most Niner fans who wanted Trey Lance would admit Mac would be better year 1. But Trey is the QB who has the ability to be a top 5 QB in this league for a long time. Mac doesn't. It's floor vs ceiling. The people who wants Mac Jones are the ones who just want a slightly better version of Jimmy G. They are ok with just having a QB that ranges anymore from 10-15. The ones who wanted Trey are the ones who want a QB who someday can possibly be the best QB in the league. Now Yes there is a possibility Trey could hit his floor which is much lower than Mac's but IMO it's a good risk to take because his ceiling is so high. When you give up that much draft capital you aim for the sky. Once they traded up to #3 they can never pick Mac Jones.

Gonna happen till Trey shuts them up.
