NDSU with another championship. Freshman qb from Iowa with the reigns

They are in essence the Bama of the FCS. That QB though was not the reason they won, he ended 9/13 126 yards and a TD. They ran for 380 yards as a team and basically controlled the clock all game.

I am sure you simply forgot to add that context to your post though.

Well he threw the ball better than Trey did in his championship game: 6/10 for 72 yards. Like all close games he played in, he ran instead of threw. Winner but we've already seen that running not translate

James Madison was a much tougher opponent in 2019 as compared to the Montana State team they beat today.

Context matters.

Well I must admit I'm not well versed with teams in that league and was just making an observation that Trey wasn't transcendent at that level.

And your bias against Trey once again reared it's head by leaving out any and all context.

Don't think anyone's ever suggested that Trey "made" the NDSU program or anything. This is their 9th in 11 seasons.

He might not start, but I think he will play.
If he doesn't play tomorrow, I'm happy with his progress and optimistic for next season. I would have a sour taste in my mouth if the only tape we had was the Arizona game.

i wouldnt have been too worried but the progress he made from that game to the Houston game was huge

I'd be concerned, without the HOU game. But now, I feel bullish about our 2022 season.

This would be nice
While I would rather the Niners win with Trey, I would also rather they lose with Jimmy. This board would be unbearable for the entire offseason if we started Trey and lost this game. The combo of the Jimmy fanbase and the Mac Jones fanbase would be having a field day. And yes I do understand it would be hard for the Jimmy fans also if Jimmy started and lost but atleast with him he is not part of this team's future. I think even the biggest Jimmy supporters can agree with that.

I think they both play in this game. That way if we lose everyone can just blame Kyle.

I would sort of expect Trey Lance to lose to Aaron Donald and Jaylen Ramsey. He's not ready for that yet. I don't think anyone should be too hard on him for that.

But they will start Jimmy G. He is injured. We need to win. So who knows what happens?

Why is that? Trey throws touchdowns, wins games.

The Rams are a big challenge for any NFL QB.

I mean, it's not like we are playing HOU.

Not against talent like that. He's not ready for the big time yet. But Houston was an improvement IMO. From what we previously saw. So that's good.
