After watching every offensive snap for the kid, and not just his highlights. He has some work to so. He has never carried a team with his arm. I hope we can develop him, but ideally, he needs a year to sit and train. Hopefully jimmy wins a superbowl and we trade him for a decent haul before handing the team over to Trey.

He's played just a handful of quarters where his team was actually behind and even then he wasn't throwing it a lot.

He's got a lot to learn and being able to ease his toes into the water is likely going to be far more beneficial than to just throw him into the deep end.

Ummmmm he Went undefeated. They have already lost games. He carried the team just fine

So did Easton Stick. You want him starting?

He carried the team just fine

He had just one game in college where he threw it more than 24 times. Four games where he passed for more than 200 yards. Six quarters in his college career where his team wasn't ahead. He's never really had to carry an offense with his arm.

The more time he gets to sit and watch, the better for him IMO.

It sounds a bit backwards to say, "he's inexperienced throwing the ball so he needs to sit and watch". Doesn't he need to play and throw? I know we're talking more about in-season, and so I hope Kyle can work him into some subpackages for development sake. Give Lance some film of himself to watch and learn from. Really curious how Kyle approaches this.

Lance needs to get a high number of preseason snaps imo. Let the competition for backup QB mainly take place in camp. Let Lance get a bunch of preseason snaps so he can adjust to NFL speed. I figure 'NFL preseason second half' is similar to high level college speed.
He'll get plenty of that in practice too. The point of him sitting is so that he can get his reps and make the mistakes that will help him learn in a setting where it won't hurt the team (practice/preseason) — or his development.

I suspect he'll play a lot in preseason.

He should get every preseason rep that Jimmy doesn't take.

To be fair, he played HS ball in Minnesota, so cold weather is fine.

I'm sure every single one of the 100 total passes he attempted in high school were crisper than a brand new twenty dollar bill.

Trey might still be growing so his hands could get bigger.

Mac Jones is just shy of 10 inches. Lawrence was the only one of the top QBs with really good sized hands.

Burrow had the smallest of any top draft pick in recent memory.

Whoever tweets for uStadium is not good at math - lol 6/8...?!?

Maybe the implication is that it's just over 3/4? Who knows what weird significant figure customs they may have.

Rosen: "But when do I get to play coach?"

That's harsh, Jed wasn't saying when he'll play, just that it isn't the end of the world if Jimmy plays well and he waits 2 years.

End of the day not all owners would sign up for paying 25mil to Jimmy when his successor is in the building.

Jed has done a lot to cause pain to this franchise, but he's definitely on the way to getting it back on track.

This makes it obvious that he and Lynch had to overrule Shanny. Obvious. Nobody had Mac CousinsSmith anywhere near the third pick. He couldn't out run college nose tackles.

How? The only thing obvious is that there isn't ONE SINGLE SHRED of evidence besides baseless media speculation that Shanahan EVER preferred Jones to Lance.

False. It was proven by drafting CJ and signing Nate Sudfeld.

That is what I was told from March 26th through April 29th.

If Lance doesn't learn to protect himself as a runner, then yeah, this is a legit danger to playing him.
Trey's a natural runner. Wentz is a scrambler.

I think NDST is the only team with a dome that they played, no? Let's be real NDST should be a FBS program end of the day (mid west conference).

Don't get this one at all. Dude rips 55 yarders with ease. Has the most velocity in his class. Hand strength is the key. Whether 9 inches or 10. Mac needs all 10 to get that ball velocity past 15 mph🤣🤣

Mac likes to fumble the ball, peeps that were at the Senior bowl said he fumbled a handful of times.

Sometimes they turn the AC on high in the FargoDome and it gets chilly

Some of his away games were in cold weather though. In particular I remember a game where he threw a beautiful deep ball and had some other nice throws and it was like 40 degrees that day.
So If it doesn't work out and it clear Lance is a huge project who gets fired
