when I watched all the college breakdown videos,I kind of worried about that since a lot of his runs were him breaking tackles and power running. I thought that would be very tough to transfer to the NFL.
For his arm, he has some real nice zip on passes but man do they look ugly often. It's tough to take much of anything away so far since his mechanics need improvement and he is very hesitant which probably leads to odd throws.
So you're saying the 21 yr old rookie doesn't look like HOF in his 2nd start ever? Man I wonder if all the experts were right saying he might need some time in the NFL to mature. Also not sure what "pure rushing ability" you expected? He wasn't going to be Vick/Jackson if that's what you were expecting. He has 38 carries for 168, next QB ahead of him in rushing is 39 carries for 178 by the name of Russell Wilson. I'm going to assume IF he becomes a more dangerous passer, rushing lanes will become a lot more wide open. Maybe if/when that happens you can possibly be satisfied

I'm looking back through the game. That's one of his best throws of the day.

It is strange to explain, because the runs didn't look fluid, but he certainly has the athletic ability. Perhaps the plays called were not in synchrony with him. The designated runs mostly sucked, but some scrambles were good. It looks like the play calling was improving during the game too.
In the end, he has a lot of things to work with, but it could have been much worse.

One thing, if anyone with better knowledge can chime in and comment on this. Does is seem like Trey's release point is kinda low? Like when the ball is release his release point is not that high (it's like below his head). He throws bullets but maybe this will hinder him from throwing farther, he only threw it 64 yards in that video on youtube. I feel like with his talent, a few mechanical tweaks and he could probably go 70's. it also seems a lot of purer throwers have a higher release point. I understand at the end of the day it may not matter as much but every little thing counts at this level. perhaps this can help his balls from being batted down (like in the AZ game). thoughts?

Trey flashed today. He will continue to improve and will be more decisive with time. Very pleased with his play today. I will take learning Trey over Jimmy all day every day.

Trey needs to spend less time worried about the defenders and hightail it toward the first down marker.
He's missed out on a TD vs the Cards...and missed out on a few first downs...and took unnecessary hard hits.
That's the main issue I have with him right now.... he'll be pissed when he sees the film.. also I hope Bosa gets even more on his ass about protecting himself.
