Those passing spray charts show what areas of the field the defense needs to focus on defending. It simply shows tendency.

I think Lance is hesitant throwing over the middle at this time. So he's throwing outside more where there are less defenders. But this also shows he has the arm and the willingness to throw towards the outside.

There's a lot of info you can get from those charts…but some people don't like data

Data is great. Digital literacy is in an abysmal state.

But an out of context comparison is not "people not liking data". Provide broad data sets that paint the whole picture. Especially since they are available.

Gotta work on the kids happy feet. Wierd hitch when he throws keeps his passes from its true potential

watching a rookie get up to speed is brutal but I see improvement.

we're in a tough spot. Play next week he is dog food for the rams. Don't play him he will never improve

Lol his happy feet is due to him starting in his second game. He will be fine. He definitely improved in the second half. 49ers aren't in a tough spot. He's the future. Playoffs this year is a bonus.

Like you and your haters in the Jimmy thread. Welcome to reality. Those guys probably feel like you do whining about Jimmy. Do you finally get it?

What, you're comparing a 21 yr old rookie who hasn't played meaningful football (outside of one game) in almost 2 yrs to a 30 yr old QB who's been in the league for 8 yrs, that's making $100M….what YOU don't get is there's a f**king massive difference between the two situations. How that's not obvious to you and all the Jimmy stans is beyond me. I'm done debating it with all of you. I don't care anymore. I don't care about your deflecting nonsense. So save me the back and forth.

Also not sure how many times I have to tell you I don't hate Jimmy for it to sink in your head? I literally just said I still think Jimmy gives this team the best shot to win BUT Lance's abilities can take this offense to another level that Jimmy simply can't. SO. Stop being so dramatic about all of it…that's all you've been since you joined in here dramatic and defensive… If Lance plays like Jimmy 8 yrs from now, I'll be just as critical about it.

I didn't put up an extremely poor man's Grant Cohn wannabes tweet comparing them...

Fixed for niceness

But people are conflating "hating on Trey" and "this is not the time to toy with our season" takes. You can love Trey and not want him to play at the same time (given the situation). Wanting him to sit or be on a quick hook does not make somebody a hater.

Why should fans be patient with Trey if the team literally must win next week. It is the opposite of patience. The Niners need to win. Maybe Trey is the best options right now. I'm not arguing he's not. But, certainly, thinking a 70% Garoppolo (who has owned the Rams) is the better choice is not a hot take.

Fans should be patient with Lance because he's a 21 yr old rookie who has next to nothing in reps & has played 2 legit games in almost 2 yrs.

Jimmy has a grade 3 sprain in his throwing thumb. He isn't playing. He probably can't even hold a football well enough to throw it. I already said Jimmy gives SF their best chance to win right now. He's a vet and been in this offense for 4 yrs now. That's common sense imo.

my comment overall isn't about just next week, it's about Lance in general and his process to become a legit top end QB. That s**t isn't happening overnight. Hopefully he plays well enough to win vs LA.

The first half wasn't his fault - the play selection was horrible.

Just like you didn't share conspiracies...

Sad that you guys have to put down one guy to prop up another.

I can't argue with this. I have been saying from the get go that if Trey is performing in practice he will perform in games. Shanny was extremely conservative in the first

Same. Your emotional crying for months was enough. That's why i go after you. Every day dude. But I'll leave you alone. We can all cheer and not cry about Trey now until you guys get sick if Trey.

If Jimmy can go he's going to start kyle has said. Trey did not win the starting role nor should he with 1 sub par game. He may be our future but we need jimmy to win right now.

Sub-par? Is this golf? That's the only way that game was sub-par.

So Green Bay has dominated their division for the last 15+ years because they've had the best QB. Same as how we did through the 80's and 90's. That's how important a true FQB is. That is what we are hoping for with Trey. With all apologies to the Jimmy guys, he's done as our QB, was obviously not that guy, time to move on. I hope this game built as much confidence in Trey as it did Kyle's confidence in him. It is absolutely clear he is the future and as fans, we should be excited.
