My hope is that Lance absolutely balls out on Sunday and stuns the NFL, but I don't have the feeling he will. I have had reservations since he was drafted and we knew he was going to be a project. I have been waiting for the next great 49er QB Since Montana and Young. I have been a fan since Deberg was QB lol, and while I hope Trey is "the guy", I am pretty jaded by the wait.

Sunday will tell us all a lot. Not believing it until I see it doesn't mean I won't welcome him if he comes through. He doesn't have to show me a complete polished performance to win me over either , just show me he belongs out there after a year of practice. If he makes good decisions and looks any where near worth what we gave up for him I am going be a happy camper, but let's see it first.

No sir. I didn't like the trade up to 3. I would've traded up a tad for Slater or Surtain, filling a hole on an already ready to compete roster. Then building depth throughout the rest of the draft.
I do agree we needed a qb of the future but I don't believe in Lance. And aside from that, a team like the Niners shouldn't have taken a complete project, if taking a qb, get one either ready to play, then cut bait with Jimmy and strengthen the roster elsewhere, or just stay out of the market till next year.
Bottom line is, instead of strengthening the team, we kicked the fan down the road for a "possible" future payoff

Because our 1st round picks have been so great under Lynch. Dude, we traded what could have been Solomon Thomas, Reuben Foster to draft the guy with the highest ceiling. If it works out, sounds like a win to me.

We also traded what could've been a new #1 WR and outside threat for the rawest QB with the least amount of playing time and film.

McVay said he thought we traded up for Pitts. That would've been a fantastic move, even in year 1.

Guy is already actively rooting for him to fail, so my guess is yes or he'll just vanish like a fart in the wind

I am a huge fan of JG and hope he finds success (except against us). I am so excited to see Lance go for what I believe will be the rest of our season, no matter how long or short that may be. Kid has the chance of making explosive, game changing plays on any given snap. Sunday cannot get here fast enough!

Don't completely agree because there are clearly some guys in there like myself and a few others who are clearly fans of both 49ers and Mac Jones.

I know it's a wild notion for someone to be fans of both yet here we are

But I do agree that there are also a few who certainly make me quietly question their fandom as well.

Tyler Huntley (vs Rams) or Trey Lance for my championship FF game? My QB1 was Lamar but obviously he's out injured.
