At this point, these idiot so-called sports analysts have to say something everyday in the off season so people continue to watch their show.
The draft is done, the 49ers selected Lance, just go out and win the whole thing (with Jimmy or Lance whoever the heck it is). Two SB losses in 7 years, it's time to win one.
Why?
Logically break it down to me why you believe that garbage?
When an idiot and an intelligent person say the Sun rises in the East, you agree with both "on that issue". I guess the idiot is not always wrong.
When the first two picks were obvious, and you have the 3rd pick, there is no reason to make a big deal out of that. I think Shanahan and Lynch wouldn't waste time on some tricks, etc. I think they were genuinely uncertain who they would pick, hence the hesitation to openly talk about it. Nothing wrong with that. Based on their presser two days before the draft, both were uneasy, it seemed like.
So some discussion, some convincing had to happen.
Anyways, who cares at this point, the draft is over, time to move on, and more importantly, win!
It would be a shame if Lance was a bust.
lol what???
Who the 49ers were going to draft wasn't a scientific fact. Take that analogy and flush it down the same place where Mike Lombardi talks cuz all that comes out of that guy's mouth is sh*t.
The first pick was obvious. Zach Wilson is not Trevor Lawrence. There is also absolutely NOTHING to gain from the 49ers tipping their hand. In fact they explained why they even kept the pick under lock from their own scouts/coaches and even the owner until the very end.
Regardless of that you claimed you agreed with Lombardi. He didn't say "49ers traded up without a clear guy" He's making the claim they traded up and were going to draft Mac Jones until the fans said how much they hated the pick.
That's a load of garbage.
And they weren't uneasy during their press conference. They literally said they don't care about fan opinion, which actually led to more speculation that Mac Jones would be the pick. Kyle also once again brought up the fact that if he was going to draw it up he would get a guy who can throw from the pocket like Drew Brees and have the mobility of Lamar Jackson.
Not Trey Lance may not be that(not sure anyone is) but it sure as hell wasn't Mac Jones.
They moved up so they could get Trey Lance who they figured wouldn't make it to 12 due to his skillset and the heavy demand for QB ahead of them. They made the move early so they could shake every tree and see if there was a reason NOT to take Lance or to take one of the other QBs.
I made the analogy to Draft Day earlier...the GM in that movie moved up to #1 for Bo Callahan and then asked his guys to find out everything they could why he shouldn't be the pick - they found something to swing his decision.
We moved up for Lance and he did nothing but strengthen that decision.
Everything else is absurd speculation and people who refuse to look stupid for running their mouth with no real sources worth a damn.
