True or False....the QBs having the better seasons are the ones in the upper right quadrant? You dont need to answer that. Its unquestionably true.

Yep yep basically this chart just tells us except for Fields, the same QBs that outperform him under pressure, outperform him with a clean pocket. He's been pedestrian in both as we already know, and per the chart's verification.

If there was some narrative where he's been great this year with a clean pocket he'd at least be over in Justin's area as the arrow points to.

Using a backup backup RB to do that was stupid.

Yes he would have..... because he's taller than Jimmy, and was more healthy at that time.

. So, they both suck?

Charted from PFF grades so take it with a grain of salt.

Well, they have Daniel Jones charted better than Aaron Rodgers.....

Well yea but it's still very early in the season. This stuff will even out,...cant make too much out of it too early.

Read up! Trey was brought in to be Steve Young 2.0

I remember that article. He made the same point years before about Kaepernick and the need to exhaust the play before looking to run. It took years of Young having that hammered in to him. That, essentially, his 12 yard runs weren't something to be proud of when he had a receiver open 10 yards down field because he was simplifying the defenses job. But, on those occasions where the defense took everything away he could still run. IF Trey is Young 2.0, we should all be beyond happy. Young was always my favorite 49er.

If Trey is half the player Steve Young was then we are set for the next 15 years

Kyler Murray is probably the closest thing to being half of Steve Young (or any player over 6ft) in the league.

Sigh this isn't what we need TBH. We need certainty that Trey will start so the team can prep accordingly and he will be for sure ready. Having this uncertainty if Jimmy is available just clouds things. Even if he's good to go, you know damn well he's not going to perform well if it's indeed true that it is the reason why he played like crap yesterday.

+1. Give Trey all the 1st team snaps because if by Sat Jimmy is a no go or if after the first hit sunday he goes down again we'll be back to playing backyard ball and that doesn't help the kid at all.

"He got hurt sometime in the first half," the coach said. "He said he got stepped on. I'm not sure which play. But he played for a while with it. He didn't think it was that bad at the time. Then about a minute before halftime ended, and trying to get it going, he just couldn't push off it. So, right at the end of halftime, we realized he couldn't go."

It's fitting that you chose to post this in the Lance thread, instead of the Jimmy G one.

no one cares about 5 yrs ago though...rules have changed since then. But if you want to talk about one SB how about vs Baltimore. Flacco balled out through the playoffs and had no problem throwing it downfield.

Eli Manning one two SBs on crazy throws downfield. There's a balance to all of it and right now these team wasn't balanced at all.

Look at this fun stat

Why can't we get in on that action?

This. In addition to tailoring a scheme to hide his weaknesses, Shanahan should be creating it around his strengths. And what are his strengths right now? Running and LAUNCHING the ball. If we sent Aiyuk streaking down the field and Trey let's that puppy go, we either get a huge completion or PI.

If Jimmy got stepped on, someone would have been able to come up with video evidence of this by now.

Its incredibly likely that he DIDNT get stepped on, and it just felt like he did (which is NOT good).
