Charted from PFF grades so take it with a grain of salt.
Tired of people just dismissing a stat because if comes from PFF.
True or False....the QBs having the better seasons are the ones in the upper right quadrant? You dont need to answer that. Its unquestionably true.
Why do people dismiss PFF? I mean I get it there are some head scratching outliers, but what other source is there as comprehensive as PFF for evaluating players?

No one is "forcing" anything. You have a history of dismissing everything that doesnt paint Jimmy in a good light.
Couldnt you use the bolded excuse for every single stat in football? Another rhetorical question. Yes you could. Why even track stats then?
I've dismissed PFF well before Jimmy or Kyle got here. They are a marketing gimmick that is making Chris Collinsworth of all people rich.

You mean other than actual statistics and film?
PFF fills a nitch in this Fantasy Football era.
You have to look at it's origins and who is actually doing the grading.

If I am being honest, its mostly the Jimmy homers, but I have no idea why anyone would just outright dismiss PFF. Many people on here do. Its a great source for evaluating players. Is it the end all? No, nothing is.

Brady was near the top for IAY last yr….gotta get to the SB.

This.
dude tossed two TDs and had no turnovers, that last drive was gutsy and a glimpse of what we can start seeing more often around here. he was raw and we knew that when we drafted him but to not be excited by some of the flashes yesterday is insane. he moved well in the pocket to evade multiple sacks, he runs way better than i expected in the open field, he extended two or three plays and looked to fire downfield to receivers instead of just tucking and running. he looks like he can be a Steve Young type if he works on his mechanics a little bit. dude is gonna be good. We look like such babies when you guys are this impatient and draw these ridiculous conclusions based on a half of football. half a football game that he was not prepped to be the starter for or gameplanned for, against a team we lost like 14 of the last 18 games and our most brutal enemy with 4th and 5th string runningbacks behind him. we had some great qbs but acting liek a spoiled brat and dismissing this dude is crazy

All that matters is the 49ers winning games. If one thinks Jimmy G. gives the best chance, then so be it. However, if the 49ers are winning games with Lance (whenever that is), I think that is more important, the winning part, than who we won with.
Lance can lose games, but if he mostly plays well his first season, have a QB rating > 80, have a couple of game winning drives, etc, etc, then there is hope. If we have a 2-15 record with Lance, I think we have a bigger problem than the QB.

This.
Trey Lance has been disappointing so far, but it's still early. I am discouraged by his inaccuracy, fluttering balls and throwing everything too hard. I am awaiting what Shanahan can draw up to play off of Lance's athleticism. It's not fair to judge him until he gets some first team reps and game plans tailored for his skill set. Thank God for the SF Giants -- 107 wins breaking the previous record set by the NY Giants in 1904.

IF Lance was in on that double pass trick play, do you think he would have executed it better than Jimmy?

I remember that article. He made the same point years before about Kaepernick and the need to exhaust the play before looking to run. It took years of Young having that hammered in to him. That, essentially, his 12 yard runs weren't something to be proud of when he had a receiver open 10 yards down field because he was simplifying the defenses job. But, on those occasions where the defense took everything away he could still run. IF Trey is Young 2.0, we should all be beyond happy. Young was always my favorite 49er.
Something I did like was Trey did seem to want to pass before a running on a good chunk of plays. He didn't read well I think but hopeuflly more time and experience with the system will get him more comfortable.

If Trey is half the player Steve Young was then we are set for the next 15 years
