Pretty accurate scouting report on Gallman back in 2017.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kyle finds a way to keep all these RB's on his roster. Whether it's the actual roster or the practic3 squad. He knows how important the run game is to his offense, It's his bread and butter and what makes go. He found out last season that he can't just plug in any RB and have it work. We finished 15th in the league in rushing which is horrible for a KS run offense and that was because of injuries to Mostert and Jeff Wilson JR. And ofcourse losing Kittle for alot of games. So he is probally thinking "I am going to stack my team with a half dozen quality RB's so injuries don't F**K us over"
Seems obvious we are going to run the ball, looking at the roster the backup WRs and TEs seem like practice squad candidates. The RBs and oline seem like they will be poached. Run run run then hand it off to Deebo, hit Aiyuk or Kittle on a quick throw. Then put Deebo and Kittle in the backfield and run a jet sweep. Then whamo hit them with some between the tackle runs with Sermon. Don't forget the run packages for Lance either, more runs!

People forget about the new IR rules. I expect a couple "injured" RB's be stashed away for the first six weeks.

Probably. I'd say most likely Mitchell early unless he kills it in camp.
The Athletic's Matt Barrows reports Wayne Gallman is the 49ers No. 2 running back behind Raheem Mostert "for now."

Barrows inclusion of "for now" carries a lot of weight in a crowded Niners backfield. Wilson -- who, per Barrows, was slated to be the team's RB2 -- is expected to miss up to six months after having surgery to repair a torn meniscus. Gallman, 26, is coming off a career season in which he saw highs in carries (147), rushing yards (682), and touchdowns (6) as the Giants starter. Rookies Trey Sermon and Elijah Mitchell have moved up in the backfield pecking order after Wilson's injury setback. According to Sermon's ADP -- which sits above Mostert's -- fantasy players fully expect the rookie to seize the team's lead back role sooner rather than later. That's a questionable assumption. If Mostert's ADP continues to drop this summer, he becomes an attractive option for RB-needy fantasy squads.

I highly doubt he makes the team

It'll be a hot competition. We could potentially carry five HB's on the 53 man if we choose to carry only eight OL and rely on the practice squad to stash the likes of Skule, Compton, etc. RB needy teams will be laying in wait for our final cut.
He'll make the team, with Wilson out now, and mostert bein injury prone, it could be the sermon and gallman show

Hasty is the wildcard now...

wonder what it would take to get him back? A 6th? He's on Atlanta's roster. He had 0 carries last week. Not even sure he made the 48. Seems like an obvious target that could help immediately. He knows the offense and is in NFL shape currently working out with the Falcons.
