So we just tell DJ to bail out of his Denver contract?

When it comes to DL, people need to focus less on stats and watch the tape. 3.5 of those sacks came in the first 5 games. Ebukam was playing at a really high level coming into the year and was going to have a massive season until the injuries derailed him. IMO, he's the most relentless player on the DL against the run and consistently moves the QB off the spot against the pass. He came into the year with a new speed rush and was smoking dudes with it until he sustained the quad/achilles/ankle injuries.

Ebukam is an ascending player in this scheme. I don't know about other teams, but I think he's worth the price tag for us.

He disappeared as the season wenty on. You're saying he was injured? I don't remember him being on the pre-game reports.

He was injured for a good portion of the year actually. While I think $10M per is a bit much, cap goes up so does the contracts.

49ers' Samson Ebukam: Labeled day-to-day Rotowire JAN 16, 2023

Head coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Ebukam (ankle) is considered day-to-day prior to this weekend's NFC divisional round, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. Although Ebukam departed Saturday's win over Seattle with an ankle issue, Shanahan noted that the sixth-year pro may have been able to return to the contest if the score was closer. With that being said, it currently sounds as if Ebukam will be available to play against the winner of Monday's matchup between the Buccaneers and the Cowboys, but his activity levels in practice throughout the week should correspond with his weekend availability.

49ers' Samson Ebukam: Hurts ankle Saturday Rotowire JAN 14, 2023
Ebukam injured his ankle during Saturday's 41-23 wild-card win against the Seahawks, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Coach Kyle Shanahan noted Ebukam may have been able to return if the game was close, but the defensive end finished with no stats to speak of. Considering Shanahan's comment, Ebukam's status for the divisional round likely isn't in question, but his practice reps nonetheless will be monitored as the week goes on.Set to play Sunday

49ers' Samson Ebukam: No injury designation for Week 8 Rotowire OCT 28, 2022
Ebukam doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's matchup against the Rams, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. Ebukam was unable to practice Wednesday due to an Achilles injury he picked up during the team's Week 7 loss to the Chiefs, but he was able to log a limited session Thursday and was upgraded to a full participant Friday. Across seven appearances, the sixth-year defensive end has totaled 26 tackles, 3.5 sacks and one forced fumble across 261 defensive snaps.

49ers' Samson Ebukam: Misses practice Rotowire OCT 26, 2022
Ebukam (Achilles) did not practice Wednesday, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Ebukam played through his injury in Sunday's game against Atlanta and had been practicing in a limited capacity. It's clear he needs to recover more before suiting up and taking the field for Sunday's game, but he will have two more practice opportunities prior to it.

49ers' Samson Ebukam: Back at practice Thursday Rotowire OCT 20, 2022
Ebukam (Achilles) was listed as a limited participant on the 49ers' injury report Thursday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. Ebukam sat out practice Wednesday with an Achilles injury that first arose following San Francisco's Week 5 win over Carolina. The defensive end was also limited in practice last Thursday and Friday before suiting up against the Falcons on Sunday, so he could be following a similar practice schedule in Week 7. Nevertheless, it will be worth monitoring Ebukam's status on the 49ers' final injury report ahead of this Sunday's contest against Kansas City.

49ers' Samson Ebukam: Returns in limited fashion Rotowire OCT 13, 2022
Ebukam (Achilles) was a limited participant during the 49ers' practice Thursday, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports. Ebukam suited up in Week 5 after being listed as questionable due to a hamstring injury, though he did not practice Wednesday due to a new Achilles issue. While the exact nature and severity of this injury are still unclear, the 27-year-old's ability to practice again in any capacity is an encouraging sign for his availability against Atlanta on Sunday. Ebukam has totaled 14 tackles and 3.5 sacks while playing 173 of his 188 snaps on defense this season, and his presence in Week 6 could prove particularly important after fellow pass rusher Nick Bosa (groin) missed his second consecutive practice Thursday.

49ers' Samson Ebukam: Doesn't practice Wednesday Rotowire OCT 12, 2022
Ebukam didn't practice Wednesday due to an Achilles injury, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. Ebukam dealt with a hamstring injury ahead of Week 5, but he still suited up and recorded two tackles across a season-high 45 defensive snaps. However, he appears to have picked up an Achilles issue during the contest as well. The extent of the situation remains unclear, but if he doesn't return to practice Thursday or Friday, Ebukam will be in jeopardy of missing Week 6.

10 mil is too much, especially with the investment we made with Drake.
