And for the most part when then they went scheme fit over talent (and reached in the process).
it's been a disaster.

I have to agree. Joe's a lot more like Mac. Clealy Steve Young outclasses both Mac and Joe athletically.

I don't mind him being boring. What I mind is that we could have done a draft deal deal and got this dude for a lot lees in draft pick compensation. I know we can't be this stupid to do what no other team has done and give up all this to draft Mac. I am good with Mac but only at market rate. I am not OK with overpaying for him

If we had studs on our o-line like the Buccaneers, then I'd feel a lot better with this pick.
run blockers aren't gonna help this guy
Depends on context, but yeah, in Shanahan's offense, no one gets credit besides Shanahan anyway. Jimmy went through this crap when he only threw 8 passes in the playoffs. This is part of the deal
A good run game will help out a ton. There's a reason we had the #2 offense with Jimmy.

McGlinchey is on thin ice and is on that bust trajectory for his career.
Let's be real man. If Mac underwhelms, the fans will point to the o-line as their first scapegoat. That's usually the story.
He's a great run blocker, so so pass blocker but the main point is if he does go we'll address it. Shanny does prioritize the line.

Mac was not a hooper nor was he a track athlete. Joe Montana has amongst the top ten amongst NFL QBs during his day in terms of athleticism. Joe would move like Aaron Rodgers did in his prime today in fact

If we take him at #3, I'll never believe he wouldn't have been there at #12 unless some other team straight up says they absolutely were going to take him before then. Never. Zero chance. We gave up 2 first rounders and a third for nothing. We've mocked the Rams and Seahawks for trading their first rounders like candy, but at least they got something for them.

Agreed Joe was by far more athletic. Dude made off platform throws. He could go off script. Jones is Andy Dalton more than he will ever be Joe or Brady and it's down right disrespectful to even talk about him with them.
