Mac Jones-QB-49ers

I wouldn't mind seeing him in a 49ers uniform but I wouldn't trade up for him unless it was a 3rd rounder or less.

Not for him, sorry.

How and why is McShay a draft analyst? Not even average fans who don't do this for a living would make this trade.

yea i like Mac a lot but TWO 1sts and a 2nd/3rd to move up three spots for him? lol

McShay has us swapping firsts by adding our second this year, and then either our 1st or 2nd next year. Swapping firsts should cost us 150 points, and our second is 470, so that should be more than enough on the chart. I don't think a next year pick to sweeten the deal would have to be that high. Maybe we trade Jimmy to NE for a 3rd and let Denver have that.

draft value charts don't matter too much when you're moving for a QB.

They shouldn't move up for a Jones regardless...but I know I'll get push back for that in here
If Shannahan meets with Mac Jones and sees something special and feels like he's his guy, then trade up. Trust his process and get his guy. Has he ever been able to coach "his guy?" Beathard wasn't more than a depth pick. Cousins never made it here and I don't know how many games they were together in Washington. Manzeil wasn't his pick. Inherited Matt Ryan but not sure how he values him.

I'm not saying Mac is his guy but if he views Mac and say Wilson at a similar grade then who cares if he trades up for his guy. Trust yourself to do it because you will be judged regardless for pulling the trigger or passing up the possibility. Whats worse, being wrong about your guy or being right while watching your guy thrive somewhere else? Doesn't take that long to emotionally get past a missed prospect but watching your guy thrive elsewhere will be a constant reminder for 15 to 20 years.

All in all, I am for Shannahan getting his guy and doing whatever it takes for whoever that may be. If he wants to trade up #2 thru #9 for a Mac Jones , Trey Lance, or Justin Fields then I will be a fan of the pick regardless. Heck, if he decided Kellen Mond was worth a first rounder then I am good with it.

You know how I feel about trading up in general. But if Jones went to the right spot (SF being one of them) he's going to surprise you.

And I don't think they'll be a drop off from the other guys as you think.

But of course we've been debating that exact thing for months and neither is going to move off our side of the fence. But as a 9er I truly believe he would be that special QB you're looking for. INCLUDING his sneaky mobility.

But again I know we agree to disagree though we do agree the trade up being mocked
I like jones a lot, but God McShay and kiper continue to have me question why they have a career as draft "experts".

Dude! All them dudes are borderline garbage. I love Todd McShay ALOT. More than Kiper but as I've said for a while now. Their opinions are no bit better than yours or I
no trade up for Mac lol wtf. I like Mac but no.

Yes agree to disagree.
Mac is getting drafted before the 49ers pick.

There... I said it.

It's funny, as I have gotten into the draft process through out the yrs and how information is so much more available...I've noticed how a lot of the bigger "draft gurus" are completely full of s**t.

I'd love Kiper to breakdown what CBs are better for C2, C3 and press and why. I'd love for him to breakdown QB's reads on plays and why so and so is a fit...Same with McShay. I listen to their pod and it's the most generic load of crap. Kiper just going on about where they played HS, how big they are, last time they took a s**t blah blah blah.

I mean people don't really believe these guys are diving through film and really scouting? They're basically just faces and nothing more IMO. What a sweet gig lol.

It's why I value some of the "twitter scouts" more, they're actually grinding out the film and are so much more nuanced in their evaluations.

Hence why they trade up for him

Yeah, I don't see why he's not the Perfect quarterback for Kyle. Additionally, I don't think anybody is factoring in how much stronger this team will be with JG's $27.5m to spend each of the next two years. I don't see that's worth keeping him for the two games he'll start before he rolls his ankle and never gets back in front of Mac again.

And you might be right on the draft chart. That's why I'm paying close to 700 points on a 150 point bill. You've really gotta be in love with somebody and pretty sure somebody else close behind you is too to refuse that.
