Cowherd ran down a list of teams that definitely will or probably will be drafting a QB and there were at least 5 ahead of the Niners now that we won last Sunday. That means all the top guys will be gone before the Niners draft. So where do they go with the 1st pick? Interior O line, preferably a center? DB? Maybe edge if there's a good one there, but assuming Bosa comes back healthy they have Hyder that can play on the other end.
I say O line in the 1st and a QB or DB in the 2nd depending on the quality.

History shows 5 QBs aren't going top 10.
Lance, Jones, Trask 1 or 2 will go mid to late teens. 1 or 2 will go end of round 1 top of round 2.
Not saying we will just pick one to pick one but I feel confident that those 3 will be on the board when we pick. Just a matter if we like any or not.
History also shows if we do like one we will trade up for him. Even if its 2 or 3 spots

Define good. Recent history of the last few years says about 3/4 of first round QBs are still starting on their team and either on their second contract or it appears that they will be soon.

My definition of Good is franchise QB. Which in the past 10 years with 30 QBs taken and only 8 being good. Mahomes, Jackson, Allen, Burrow, Herbert, Watson, Murray and Luck. I don't consider Newton, Goff, Wentz or Mayfield good.

Wentz is the hardest one to figure. He has size, mobility and decent arn strength and he seems to be a good leader. His accuracy is another issue. I don't remember many QBs that regressed as much as him. When he misses he's off by a mile. Receivers going one way and he throws the other way. He isn't long fot Philly if he can't fix his problems.

Wilson wasn't a 1st round QB. I'm just counting them

Franchise QB
Luck, Mahomes & maybe Burrow are the only "franchise QB" you listed.
The rest are just very good starters who are capable of winning a SB. They aren't carrying any team for a sustained time and can do so with plug and play supporting casts

Well I think Allen and Jackson will continue to have success as long as they play in the correct systems. Herbert is every bit the potential franchise QB Burrow is. Watson is 100% a franchise QB and I'll gladly be wrong that Murray is a franchise QB.

I'll give you Herbert's potential. And your comment about correct system was my point to begin with.
If damn near any good/very good QB are in the correct system they can flourish. The reason most bust are round peg square hole. We are seeing that to a lesser degree with Brady and Arians.
If Brady and Mayfield switched places i think they'd both be better off

Oh. You didn't say 1st rounders in your original statement.

Newton isn't much anymore, but he was pretty damn good. NFL MVP, 15-1 season, got to a Super Bowl. Newton wasn't missing a bunch of games until 2019. Always threw too many picks. At least Mayfield is on a rookie contract. Goff and Wentz have team killer contracts. The Eagles should get Foles back (he has some strange Super Power that only work as an Eagle)
