I would rather they go on strike than have a 17 game season and add two more s**tty teams to an already watered down playoff format.
8-8 teams in the playoff going to become the norm.

I understand the extra week, it really is pointless. But two extra playoff games? I dont understand the big deal.
Ya you might see some 8 and 8 teams, but you already see that some years from division winners. There have been plenty of 8 and 8 teams to make the playoffs, we even had SEA at 7 and 9 make it about 10 years ago.
I dont mind the playoff changes as much as i do the extra week.

Welp, it appears the NFLPA went belly up to the owners after all. At least more members did than didn't. 17 for/14 against, I guarantee Sherman was one of the 14.

Can't have an 8-8 team make the playoffs in a 17 game season, but a 9-8 or 8-8-1 team might in some years. Maybe even an 8-9 team in the rarest of cases. I doubt a 7-10 team will ever make it.

Agreed. They should probably just skip the regular season and go straight for a playoff format.

The schedules are already made up for 2020 so 2021 would be the earliest assuming they get all the logistics worked out. As you said it could be 2022 before they figure out how to make it work so everyone is happy. Still think it's a mistake. Stay the same or go to 18 games which they are going to eventually do anyway.

Yeah, they needed to go to 18 games, to avoid the problem of who gets an extra home game, in a 17 game scenerio.
