Rich Scangarello joining the Eagles

Rich Scangarello is going to the Eagles as an offensive assistant, targeting the development of Carson Wentz.

He did a great job getting Garoppolo ready in the very short time he was with the 49ers. Though he was let go in Denver after only a single season, he is credited with having accelerated the development of Drew Lock who now appears to be the heir apparent in Denver based on his late season improvement.

I was sorry to see him leave the 49ers. It seemed he had developed good chemistry with JG during the short time they were together. He also seemed to fit well with what Kyle wanted to do here. Good luck to him in Philly. It looks like a good fit there.

The Philadelphia Eagles will not bring back senior offensive assistant Rich Scangarello to their coaching staff in 2021, according to Geoff Mosher and Adam Caplan of InsideTheBirds.com.

Scangarello did not have a contract beyond the 2020 season and the Eagles will not extend a new one to keep him as a part of the staff moving forward.

Scangarello would be the first known departure from the offensive coaching staff for the Eagles.
