I don't think so. But then again, if people think that Eli Manning should be in the HOF discussion, then I guess anyone can be.

Umm… Eli Manning won multiple Super Bowls. Against Brady. Eli Manning is not just "anyone" come on lol

He was the QB for two Super Bowl teams, I'm not sure he won them. If winning Super Bowls was the main criteria for being eligible for the HOF than let's throw in Trent Dilfer and Brad Jonson. The only reason the Giants beat Brady is because Manning threw up a prayer and had it answered with an amazing catch by a seldom used wide receiver.

Whether he actually did or not, it seemed like Eli led the league in interceptions just about every year he played. He wasn't a dynamic playmaker like Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson, and I don't think you can make a single argument to support the idea that, as a QB, he contributed ANYTHING to the evolution of the game or in any way advanced how the QB position was played. On top of which, just about every time he came off the field after a bad play, he looked like he was going to cry. I despise Eli Manning.

When you consider your previous post about preferring Alex to Kaepernick and thinking he somehow would have won the SB, and then comparing it to this post, all I can do is laugh. Alex Smith couldnt hold Eli Manning's jockstrap.

One has nothing to with the other. Smith is also not worthy of the HOF and I'm not comparing them in anyway shape or form. Your take that Manning was a better QB than Smith has NOTHING to do with his perceived worthiness to be in the HOF. It's like saying, well Manning was a better QB than Brad Johnson, therefor he deserves to be in the HOF. My belief that Smith, under the circumstances of that particular year, would have been a better choice to start against Baltimore than Kaepernick is just my opinion and you're free to disagree. However, the FACT remains that Kaepernick was the QB of record for that loss. How Smith would have done in his place is just a matter of speculation. For you to claim that you KNOW for certain he wouldn't have won that game, is just more of your typical nonsense, where Smith was concerned.

Well, considering Alex has never won a playoff game in his career when his defense didnt turn the opponent over at least 5 times, I feel pretty confident that Alex would not have beaten Baltimore in the Superbowl.

In terms of Eli, I do not think that he deserves to be in the HOF because he is better than Alex Smith. I think he has a borderline case at best. I just found your two consecutive opinions to be quite comical, not that I thought you were comparing the two quarterbacks.

Alex Smith was on two super loaded teams, with the niners and then in KC.

The qbs who replaced him immediately went to the super bowl. One was a play away from winning and the other won 3.

In the NFCC Kyle Williams got the blame which was valid but we would not be in that position if Smith played better. I was there and he was missing receivers all game, including in OT were he underthrew VD over the middle wide open and he had a chance to take it to the house.

Well said. I was there too. Feel like I was more upset losing that game than any Superbowl.

Hahaha
I think considering everything he deserves the nomination, might even accept a finalist.
But no he Nor Eli deserve the hall of fame.

Eli won the Super Bowl 2 times. Alex never won. Eli belongs in. Alex not so much. Alex was a good guy and a hard worker. Just not Hall of Fame material.

If winning the Superbowl is the reason for a player being in the HoF then the HoF is just a waste of space.
