But no he Nor Eli deserve the hall of fame.

Eli won the Super Bowl 2 times. Alex never won. Eli belongs in. Alex not so much. Alex was a good guy and a hard worker. Just not Hall of Fame material.

I said he does not deserve a HoF induction.
But being 1 of 160ish nominees, sure.

I don't see Eli as a HOF player. Winning aSB or even two doesn't make up for a lot of average play during the season. He had over 20 INTs 3 times and lead the league in that department. When you think of great QBs Eli Mannning doesn't pop into your head right away. For me that's the biggest test of whether a player deserves to be in the HOF or not. Personally I think there are too many players in it but that's just my opinion. Usig stats as a measure isn't agood way to decide who goes in since rules have changed the game so much. Comparing a QB of today with one from the 80s isn't a fan comparison.

I agree. Eli's career QB rating is below average compared to even just the other QBs of his era. Two good postseason runs where his defense did a lot of the heavy lifting should not be enough to get him in.

His first Superbowl run, he had 6 touchdowns and 1 interception. His second Superbowl run, he had 9 touchdowns and 1 interception. You might be able to make that argument about his first SB run, but not his second. He balled out.

Fun fact about Eli. Between his rookie and final year he only missed 1 game during that 14 year stint.

His regular season numbers don't pop out but his playoff runs do. I think he'll eventually get in and i'm ok with that. I'm glad he didnt get in his first try.

Also won 2 sb mvps, top 10 all time td passes, 11 all time in yards, top 10 in completions. Alex shouldn't even be in the same conversation.
RIP to Nick Mangold.

Sidenote: Alex is looking good . No bs. Calling out the jets owner saying that Fields is the problem.

Eli was clutch when it mattered. Watching him vs GB at Lambeau against a 15-1 squad. Also watching him come up clutch against the undefeated Patriots, then repeating the accolade years later against Brady.

He definitely deserves to be in the HOF. Alex Smith is a pity nominee. Good guy. Did a lot to contribute. But an avg player that took his teams pretty much no where.

Clutch when it mattered except in the 4 other times he made the playoffs when his team was one and done. In their 2 Super Bowl runs, the defense held opponents to an average of 15 points a game, including some of the best offenses of all time. He was good during those runs, but I don't think that should be enough to get him in considering how bad he was the rest of his career where he's not even above .500, and only 4 pro bowls.

Come on man. 2 SBs and 4 pro bowls. Yes in the grand scheme of things he doesn't belong. But unfortunately the NFL HOF has become diluted. Anyone and everyone makes it. I mean just look at the above posts. Alex Smith gets a nomination nod….now that's a laugher.
