Awesome that he's an asset in coverage and not a liability with that rugby background. He also forced(?) a muff on a punt. Maybe that was one of his knuckler punts that's intended to create a muff.

Didn't like the pick originally. Love it now. We have a unique advantage, and I think I might get the niners defense and special teams. I think he is going to cause a lot of turnovers, and we are going to see some awesome trick plays. He seems like a good athlete. As someone else pointed out, I've never seen someone kickoff and make the tackle inside the 25... special teams are going to be fun to watch. Consider me a fan of this guy. I see a completely unique talent and something every team is going to wish they had.
Nice of you to admit honestly what most NFL traditionalists were saying. Not that you are in that category but I love it when we are willing to be proven otherwise.
My own Wishnowsky plate of crow in front of me is starting to look pretty tasty!
I'm having mine with Ranch dressing...not too bad.

NOT F'N RUGBY
Rugby converts try to be RB's or WR's.Mitch played Aussie Rules - very different game. Aussie rules converts usually go for punting positions
eg,
Sav Rocca, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYyOvoolACo
Darren Bennet http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap3000000839550/Darren-Bennett-highlights
Ben Graham https://www.azcardinals.com/video/ben-graham-s-punting-styles-2949494
Any chance coaches film will show the whole story - from kick to tackle? Just to see the path he took?

His kickoffs still worry me. This was at mile high, I think I could kick off into the endzone there.

If he can get 1 muffed punt every two games, and assume that we recover 50% of them... I'd take 4 punter-created turnovers a season. That's on top of his all-pro kicking ability.

Wish said himself, he hangs back and fills any gaps he sees. Looks like he has a knack for it. If another team becomes so worried about blocking your kicker, I think you've already won the special teams battle.
