There just no reason to have your punter out there risking injury tackling guys. If he gets hurt were stuck with some random punter off the street.

Well, that is basically what most people wanted anyway.
"get a punter in 7th or udfa" was the general wailing after Mitch was drafted in 4th.

They are all silent now!!

I didn't know he was already almost 28 years old, as a rookie.

Yeah He played Aussie Rules for a number of years but gave it up. He then worked for a while and decided to go to the US and get a football scholarship and do college at mature age. His Aussie football experience put him ahead of the pack as did him being older and more mature.

He can be a punter for another 10-12 years or so no problem.

Wishnowsky will be around with SF for a few years to come and he will be a beast.
ST coaches gotta teach him how to strip the ball out. One view as they're going down, he coulda raked the hand in there.
Thl...notice the kickoffs were out of the back of the EZ?

Not if they let him make tackles like that. Which they won't. Nor will we see the fakes that he can do.

I think his good punting has actually painted him in to a corner.

This league has no place for specialists being versatile. I hope Shanahan proves me wrong.if he does will he still be a specialist?

He can always be an offensive weapon if specialist doesn't work out.

I think it's safe to say Wish shut everyone up after that hit.

I hurd if you make a wish when Wishnowski makes a tackle like that, your wish will come true.

I'm sure that returner closed his eyes. Made a wish
Wish is such a weapon he's our Punter and our best gunner...on the same punt!

And Kick off weapon?
Didn't like the pick originally. Love it now. We have a unique advantage, and I think I might get the niners defense and special teams. I think he is going to cause a lot of turnovers, and we are going to see some awesome trick plays. He seems like a good athlete. As someone else pointed out, I've never seen someone kickoff and make the tackle inside the 25... special teams are going to be fun to watch. Consider me a fan of this guy. I see a completely unique talent and something every team is going to wish they had.

Nice of you to admit honestly what most NFL traditionalists were saying. Not that you are in that category but I love it when we are willing to be proven otherwise.

My own Wishnowsky plate of crow in front of me is starting to look pretty tasty!
